The Clips have been poor beyond the arc since, I don't know, Terry DeHere or something. So why hasn't anything been done?
Think -- if Q could hit 3s he'd be worth a mid-level exception. If Korolev could hit 3s he might get some playing time, or even an extension. Daniel Ewing used to hit 3s, but now struggles with long 2s. Corey, Cat and Sam have all gotten worse. Livingston would be an All-Star if he could shoot well, not just because he'd score, but guarding him would be nightmarish.
So why, oh why, doesn't anybody concentrate on this? The opportunity is there; the training for anybody to learn to shoot 3s (almost) is available, and should be on the Clippers' bench.
Brand and Kaman should be the biggest boosters of the 3 (for others). Opening up the middle would make Elton an All-Star, and Kaman a stringy-haired stud.
My bewilderment comes from both the coaches and the players -- I mean, why do you think Luke Jackson's here? For the Star Wars jokes?
Too soon, the Clippers will be done with their season; let's hope a few guys step up and learn to shoot!
