Shaun Livingston to take two-year Miami Heat deal -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com
Mercifully, it is done. Livingston is signing with the Heat. It's a great fit for Shaun, and if he can return to anything approaching full health, a Livingston-Wade backcourt, along with Michael Beasley, could be scary good. Hat tip to PeninsulaIsMightier.

I have to wonder...
if this move might have been made in order to help retain DWade when he becomes a free agent in 2 years. If SL regains any of the form that he had (a big IF, I know), then SL, DWade and Beasley could be a potentially formidable big 3…and very young as well. If SL doesn’t pan out, I assume Miami can say good bye to DWade.

Miami's window is tight
Marion is in the final year of his contract and wants a BIG pay day. Wade’s option comes the year after. How do they do this year (and no one expects SL to help much now)? What do they do with Marion (I can’t see them keeping him)? How does Beasley perform? If Beasley and Livingston are the pieces that entice Wade to remain in South Beach, they have two seasons to make it happen.

Less....
than 2 seasons…assuming SL plays half of this season…like you said, a very tight window. After watching SL for all these years though, I am not sure SL will EVER develop into the player any of us thought he would. His history of injuries cannot and should not be ignored. We all keep saying he is young, but he be young forever.

Finally some closure...this should work for both parties
Good for SL, he’s got one heck of an opportunity in Miami now. I’m pretty sure he just needed a change of scenery, and I don’t think Clipper Nation could stomach much more of the, “he can play!”, “oh wait, maybe he can’t”, “if he could only get healthy”.

At least he's in the East
It would be brutal to watch Liv develop into a terrific player in purple and gold (or in whatever the hell color that is that the Warriors wear). I can root for him in Miami.

The end of an era
Wow, Livingston has been signed. On a plus side, the saga is finally over, and we can get “closure”, whatever that means. Unfortunately, it will be painful if Livingston makes any sort of progress, for a Clips fan to bear. He’s no better than Brand, he just wanted to jump ship, no matter the cost. It will be tough to watch all these ex-Clips thrive….more painful than watching Odom, since all 3 big FA losses have much better skill sets than Odom. Oh well, he wanted out, I wouldn’t blame him after last season. Hope things work out for him and the Clips.
Give Maggette credit, he gave the Clips every opportunity to re-sign him, even calling back after Brand signed with the 76ers…allegedly…but the Clips wanted no part of him.
Oh well, it was a good signing for the Heat. Livingston will complete the team well….if they use him properly.
I love LAC.

Glad it's over
Best of luck to Shaun Livingston.
Pretty horrific chapter in the Clipper saga, and that’s saying something. Best to turn the page and move on, and I like having these guys (SL, FElton) in the East, where we can watch them from afar. Should be interesting to see how the Miami situation develops, an interesting team to watch.

Not sure how to feel
On one hand, I am happy Shaun is with Miami. He will get a real opportunity there and if he proves to be healthy, may be a huge boost. The Clippers could have and should have signed him but they didn’t in that is that. On the other hand, both Shaun and Brand showed absolutely zero loyalty to a fan base that had patiently waited for them to become contributers only to endure a long term injury and then they bolt. I hate the fact that Shaun clearly had no intention of signing with the Clippers. He is better than Brand, but still a disgrace to to the sports community. I have decided to burn my Livingston jersey tonight. If Shaun has a few decent games at the end of his contract year he is going to want $10M per year again. Better it be Miami’s problem.

Stop being retarded
Please don’t confuse EB’s outright lying to Liv’s looking for a team that’s the best fit for him. How is Liv a disgrace to the sports community? You’re the guy who keeps lobbying for Starbury, right? I guess I’m in a-hole mode but I think you’re a disgrace to the ClipsNation community. Welcome.

Definitley not a disgrace
he just wanted to find the best fit for him. Bob you got to realize sports are business. And it makes business sense for Liv to look for a spot where he can start. Having his own interests in mind does not make him a disgrace. And also Liv never said he was definitely going to come back.
