i think it's a bit overboard given that it's early in the season and both teams are banged up to start the season...

Thanks
Kawakami writes interesting articles, but it’s clear he knows very little about the Clips. How did this “ruin” the Clips? If Brand was going to betray us even with Baron on board, then he sure as heck was going to betray us without. And he’d have a legit excuse – “They didn’t improve the team.” So imagine where we’d be if we had NEITHER Brand, nor Baron. That’d be disgusting.
That’s why you’ll notice that he elaborates on a lot of his points regarding the Warriors, but not on the Clips. He just writes general points about how this messed up the Clips, but doesn’t provide any actual facts. My favorite idiotic comment was how Baron hinders the development of Gordon. Uh…yea because we all know how bad it is to play with a top flight PG.
And Camby has “no interest in the Clippers”? SO!? Who cares? The guy still plays well and his contract is a huge asset to us. But Kawakami can’t seem to understand the contract aspect of it.
Bah, whatever, he has no idea what he’s talking about.
He does bring up a few good points...
As we all know, BD and MDSr aren’t perfect matches. Baron is a “quantity shooter” famous for taking wild 3s. Cassell shot a lot as well, but he was a good midrange shooter. Which brings up the question: I wonder how a MDSr/Andre Miller Combo would have worked?
He also brought up a good point about Camby. Camby was a reactionary acquisition, made after the Elton debacle. He was never in the Clips plans. It seems odd starting Baron with 2 Centers as well….maybe Josh Smith would fit better. Camby is not in their long-range plans either….so if the Clips don’t pick things up the next 20 games, we could see Camby on the bench a lot as MDSr would give the younger guys a look. Not a good idea for a $10 mil salary. Angling for 2010 may not be the best move, since many teams have similar ideas.
Come to think about it, MDSr did run a lot of set plays for Maggs.
I love LAC.
