Dear citizens: We didn`t want to see
Before the regular season started, a lot of articles, featuring analysts to former clippers players, said things that, we the people of Clipper nation, with all the hype of a big summer, discarded. I can tell that after only 10 games, they were right.
For instance, some stories were:
- Maggete: BD ¨is in for a rude awakening¨.
- Hollinger: ¨the marriage of BD and the Clippers is doomed from the start¨, ¨Thornton is old and doesn’t have much room for improvement.
- Everybody: Ricky Davis is a perennial loser
- Thankful Jazz fans: Jason Hart can’t play NBA basketball.
- Lots of people: ¨it s the Clippers¨.
- Olympic games: Kaman was a bust.
I´m sure you can come up with tons of these stories...
The point is: it was all there. We didn’t want to see. We nearly cursed at people who dared to rank the clippers in lottery territory. This year, more emphasized than others, we thought it was going to be the season when we finally take off. Well…
Now, I ´m feeling the need of closing the chapter of high expectations, that were based on beliefs, because I hadn’t seen anything tangible, something like a new group of players competing together on the same court.
I don’t think this post is any good, but I do hope it helps bury those expectations for good. Maybe, this way, a simple game played with heart, win or lose, will be welcomed. And get back to roots. And start building a positive vibe. And renewed expectations will grow. Again. Will it be possible this time?

That's the worst part
Hollinger being right.

They look like crap.
And that is putting it nicely.
Thanks to NBA TV I was able to check them out last night. Only bright spots are Taylor and Gordon. Gordon looks like he will be pretty good in time.
The building looked empty- except for the black shirted Spurs fans. I would feel bad for the home team not having an advantage- yet when you factor in the 1-9 record , do you really expect a full house?
Maybe the team (that means YOU Baron!) will learn how to shoot the basketball on the road? Maybe not.
All that being said- expectations are VERY low for the Clippers at this point. I will not be shocked if they get slapped around by OKC. Then they will go Philly and get smacked up too. Then they will be 1-11. Wow.
Maybe this was all part of Elton & Baron’s diabolical plan to run the Clippers into the ground and payback the Donald for all his years of nickel n diming the players?
I mean, who better a player to take 64mill and then come and lay n egg? If it get’s bad enough he can just get hurt and take some time off……………
If we’re gonna go 10-72, we might as well start Taylor and Gordon.

Actually the Staples Center was pretty full last night
Maybe they gave away all the rafters seats for free but the 300 sections were packed. And there were considerably more fans in the lower levels than the previous 5 games. It’s pretty sad though…and Darryl’s MVP chants for Baron is on the verge of being an insult….

I don't know
Cuban is in some very hot water right now for inside trading I wouldn’t want to be tied to him right now.
At least he cares
The insider trading was was for the amount of $750,000. Look at Martha Stewart she did millions of dollars in insider trading and she’s still out and about.
"Caring" doesn't mean good decisions.
Cuban butt’s into personnel decisions too much. He pretty much told Steve Nash to take a hike so the team cold get Erick Dampier. Then a few years later, he decides needs a PG and pushed for Jason Kidd way too hard.
DTS does care…he okayed paying 65 mil to a middle-of-the-road PG that shoots too much, has a history of injury issues, and is a defensive liability. Now that’s caring.
I love LAC.
Baron Davis is NOT a middle of the road PG.
I’m not sure what you’re watching.

Ironic to me
That someone like Mark Cuban is being charged with Insider trading……A high profile wall street outsider is getting charged with a fairly minor ($750k) amount of insider trading? Last I checked we (the USA) were giving BILLIONS to failed financial companies………..yet I am supposed to give a damn that Mark Cuban had “inside” knowledge on $750k.
I think Baron has stole that much already this year from the Clippers………:-)

Cuban's a victim of his visibility
Insider trading is very difficult to monitor. High profile prosecutions help establish a deterrent. Cuban’s a famous guy – you go after him and send a message to others.
