Kaman for J Rich?
Espn is reporting that the Clips and the Bobcats are in trade talks. I really don't know what to think anymore. It feels as if we're spiraling further and deeper into the rabbit hole and that NOTHING will pull us out this season. We've already made a huge trade, and have no idea how it will turn out. Now, we hear that they're not done. Oh me, oh my.

I don't understand..
how this deal makes ANY sense for the Clips. Kaman is a legit top tier center who is YOUNG and they have him locked up for years. There is no way the Clips are winning this year, so there is no reason to make a knee-jerk trade with your franchise center. JRich is injury prone, makes them older too, and inhibits the development of EG, who just happened to have his best game as a pro last night. If you insert Camby instead of Kaman, then I am all for it. Kaman should be untouchable right now. Doesn’t he also have a “poison pill” contract as well? God, I hope this is not true. This would just take the Clippers one more step back (maybe even more).
not going to happen
more likely we trade Camby instead of Kaman. I would be happy with the deal then.
As long as
CS doesn’t make a front page post about how this isn’t happening, we should be ok. Otherwise…he’s like the anti-Nostradamus.

If it happens we should stage a protest tomorrow
This makes no sense, what are we trying to do, bring back the Warriors team from 07? A source says Kaman is not in the talks and normally I wouldn’t put much weight into it but since we do have 3 bigs I could see this happening and it worries me deeply.
Now Camby is doable since we no longer have alot of caproom in 2010 and J-Rich contract expires in 2011 (that’s when we will make our move, Kasparov himself would be impressed by our ability to look 3 years out). I’d be okay with Gerald Wallace as well, we’d have some pretty athletic players then.

Don't worry
Dunleavy has been Kaman’s biggest supporter. His wet dream is two dominant post players. He thinks he has that now.
If any deal were to be made, it would be for Camby. But, quite frankly, it still would make zero sense to deal your most productive player. Marcus is having another great year. The guy is a stud.
No deal with the Bobcats. We have a good SG.

is there a team besides the spurs that pays their 6th man 8-10+ million per year?
I’m just asking, not trying to pick a fight.

The Knicks...
pay a guy $20M per not to show up at anything.

haha
that’s true. And i found the answer to my question. It’s not that uncommon (which I found surprising) most are bad contracts or guys that are no longer playing with their teams (portland, new york etc.) but one I saw that was surprising is the suns. boris freakin diaw is making a flat 9 million for backing up amare and shaq. (BTW every time i say his name I think boris and natasha)

Also...
Portland is paying Steve Francis $17M less a minor buyout this season, and paying Raef LaFrentz $12M. Sacto pays Kenny Thomas $8M, and he’s on the books next season also. At least the Clippers are planning on playing these guys as of now.

I don't know
But the Clippers can pick up another SG anywhere. They should not give up Marcus Camby. At least not this year.
His expiring contract will be even more valuable next year, so I think they will hold onto him until then. If you really want a shooting guard, hold out for Vince Carter, rather than J Rich.

IF we trade Kaman for J-Rich...
Then Sterling needs to step in and fire Dunleavy immediately and void the deal…because it will be clear that he is making desperation moves in order to get a single victory.
Jason Richardson and Maggette are interchangable in my opinion…I agree with mikey p, if we’re going for short term, then trading Kaman for Vince Carter would be a bit more palatable…though no way that NJ go for that deal.
maybe dunleavy is making moves to give himself an excuse for another losing season
one year it was “oh the trip to Russia slowed us”
the next year it was “injuries”
this year it’s “we have too many new players.”
or maybe we all want to blame someone for things not working out as fast as we would have expected. After we get done blaming the coach, I say we turn our fire toward the darn clipper spirit for the taylor fiasco. jk haha i don’t even know who taylor is but I remember a post a few months back. lol.

Clipper Spirit Taylor...
was the Spirit’s previous team captain and inexplicably she didn’t even make this year’s team. The Clippers might have been bad, but we had the best dance troupe in the NBA. This year’s Clipper Spirit and their new coordinator sucks. I have no problem blaming whoever she is…along with Jasen Powell.

So I am not the only person that thinks Jason Powell is worthless?
Clippers are the most injury prone team I have ever seen, especially when it comes to feet.
The Yankees fired their strenght coordinator last year after three players pulled hammies. Clippers problem is that they stick with people way too long.
F-Elton!
Yea the Clipper Spirit are good
Pretty much the only bright spot so far of being a season ticket holder has been watching the girls. Wish games have been closer so we would actually call timeouts (more routines then). Oh wells, there’s always next year. Should we be scouting the college ranks for our next prospect?
BTW does everyone else watch alot of college basketball and if they are watching highlights of say a Blake Griffin just destroying people on ESPN do they imaging them being a Clipper in the near future? We need a no-brainer one of these years. A talent like a Derrick Rose, Lebron James etc. If it isn’t ridiculously obvious we will blow it. Imagine if we got the 1st pick a few years ago, we would have drafted Dwight Howard instead of trading down and picking Livingston. I’m on my way to sacrifice a few goats for next years draft day.
