The Clippers are wasting Baron Davis' talent

They're squandering his driving ability by putting him up top and having him feed Zach Randolph repeatedly. Also, why is Randolph the primary late-game option and not Davis?

BD looks frustrated all the time. I guess you can't always go home after all...

For starters

ZBo is BY FAR the best scoring option on the team. BD has shown a general unwillingness to penetrate, instead settling for contested fadeaway jumpers (^TM). BD did come home, but basketball doesn’t appear to be the primary reason.

As an aside, I think Randolph is the player on the team that Baron has the best rapport with, whatever that’s worth.

With all due respect, I disagree with your opinion about BD

MDSr the GM signed BD knowing full well what his game is and should have known what type of an offense he needs. MDSr said as much in numerous press conferences. Now that MDSr has decided to go another direction and continue with the same offense he ran with EB (like he said, just having ZBo run EB’s plays), slowing down the offense to the point where BD’s game is not reflected as good as it can be, you dog BD.

I don’t think that’s fair. Having said that, I agree with you about the chemistry between ZBo and BD and I think that BD is such an elite PG that he will be able to overcome the MDSr offense deficiencies and come up with something that works.

MDSr is the reason Baron is missing layups and shooting mid range airballs?

Just doesn’t seem possible. Layups are layups regardless of offense. A pro has to make his layups.

Jax

You should stop using the phrase “with all due respect.” It ain’t working.

I completely understood your post.

Baron is only struggling in shooting. Nothing about MDSr’s offense explains why he is missing layups. This is the only thing negatively reflecting on BD’s game.

BD missed two layups in the first against Chicago and on another possession missed a wide open jumper. He makes one, the Clippers win.

I like that the guy in the original post was wrong on both his picks that night. Doesn’t reflect well on his insight on BD.

ummm, BD has been taking all the late game shots.

In case you haven’t noticed, Baron’s spent the latter part of the last few games dribbling out the clock before taking a bad shot. Him and Z-Bo need to get on the same page.
