Clips Nation on Twitter
For those of you who care, Clips Nation 'tweets' are now available on Twitter. I'm still trying to figure Twitter out, and I'll just say right up front that I'm pretty sure I don't get it, but if you do, you can follow ClipperSteve. (I think that's all you have to know... although the whole idea of following people smacks of stalkers, if you ask me.)
I believe I have set it up to send out all new posts on Clips Nation automatically. If you're at your computer already, I don't think there is any advantage over an RSS feed. But if you enjoy the mobile devices, it may be useful to you. Let me know.
It's funny, I don't think of myself as a technology Neanderthal - I'm a blogger for FSM's sake! - but I must say that I'm having more than a little trouble with some of the new social media. I have a Facebook account at this point - but I'm not really sure why. I mean, sure, I found some people from high school that way. But I'm not seeing that it changed my life. And Twitter? Don't really get that at all.
Part of the issue is that I am resistant to using my mobile phone as anything other than a phone. I tend to like to let my devices be what they are. I listen to music on my iPod. I make phone calls on my phone. I type on my laptop. I don't want to listen to music on my phone or type on my phone. It's not designed for that. Of course, another blogger today called me "The master of the long form" which I think was his way of calling me verbose. And here I am, well into fourth paragraph telling you that I'm on Twitter. 140 characters? I can't sneeze 140 characters. So texting? Yeah, I don't get that. I tend to use all the letters in the words.
Anyway, I'd be interested in your feedback. Is there a way for me to Twitter that would increase your awareness or enjoyment of Clips Nation? Let me know.
Tweet that!

Hey, ClipperSteve. I added ya since L.A. needs more representation in the Twitter front. Ha ha ha.
But, yeah, Twitter is useful for expressing our feelings AT the moment. Sure, blog posts are great to read but we also want to know how you’re feeling about… basically anything… at that current moment and stuff that we can’t sometimes describe at a blog post.
Oh, and of course, you can tell us what you’re doing, too! Like if you’re out doing laundry or something. Ha ha ha.
Yeah...
Like for instance, right now, I’m blogging

geez, I leave on vacation for a week
and CS is gone all hi-tech on us!!…
the only way i tweet is on my pc…my cell phone is one of those ol’ timer ones that can’t connect to the internet!!
Looks like I’ll be catching up on some posts tomorrow during work, ahem, I mean breaks at work….

This is how it starts, Steve. Reluctance to latch onto the latest technology, going so far as to question its value! Next, you’ll get more selective with your pop culture consumption (“I don’t care if everybody likes it, it stinks!”). Then you complain about rolling bassy boom boxes. Then stupid clothing trends.
You’ve a long path ahead of you, Steve, but you’ve taken the first step.
I’m proud of you, and look forward to sharing prostate stories!
