Clippers Injury Report

Greetings to all.  I hope everyone had a nice Christmas Day.  There were five NBA games yesterday.  Thank goodness the Clippers were not one of the participating teams.  They definitely needed the rest.

According to Lisa Dillman of the LA Times, Zach Randolph's knee injury is being described by Coach Mike Dunleavy as a sprained knee.   X-rays of the knee were negative, and no MRI was performed.  That is certainly welcome news.

Mike Taylor underwent surgery on his fractured right thumb and could be out six to eight weeks.  (Imagine, he injured the thumb on Monday night, and was undergoing surgery Tuesday.  These guys move fast).  The loss of Taylor will mean more minutes for Baron Davis and Jason Hart, at least until a third PG can be brought in (the Clippers are considering holding an open tryout.  Any of you readers available?).

Chris Kaman and Ricky Davis are still OUT.  There does not appear to be a time table for their return.  So the roster will remain thin.

Next game is Sunday at home against Dallas.  This will be the third meeting with the Mavs.  The Clippers won the first, and won 47 minutes of the second game before absolutely collapsing down the stretch.  But they have shown that they matchup well against Mark Cuban's squad.  The game is at 12:30.

Ummm...maybe he should try coaching of any kind first.

I think that you (as well as many other Clipper fans) think that anybody would be better than Dunleavy. I don’t think that is necessarily the case. If the Clippers find a more than capable replacement, I would love it. However, I don’t want to throw someone like Sam in there just because he’s not Dunleavy. I realize he brought success to a franchise who never had that term in their vocabulary, but that is not necessarily the measuring stick for a good coach. You have to have a lot of other qualities, which he could display as an assistant at first.

might need to try being an assitant coach first

but I would love for Sam to be involved with the clips somehow after he retires. Always did seem like he was a coach on the sidelines. I would guarantee that Sam as head coach would definitely be interesting.

What the hell is wrong......

….with Kaman? They’ve got stuff at the drugstore that treats plantar faciitis. It takes about a week to work. Why has he been out all this time?

I don't know about his coaching.....

….but up until he got too old(2007) he was one of the most clutch players to ever play in the NBA. The Clippers’ success that one year was about 75% his doing.

what about JJordan?

he’s quick and can push the ball just like Mike Taylor!

How about Guillermo Diaz again for that matter

I think the Clip Ship has sailed away from those two….at least until 10 day contracts become available later in the season.

I love LAC.

Nice Work MP

I think we need to be more specific about Kaman.

I think the Clips are drifting back today (Friday) and maybe they’re practicing, maybe they aren’t, then something tomorrow before the game on Sunday. The break should be helpful for Randolph and BD, amongst others. It probably even helps for the team to see some “serious” basketball played by the elite teams on Christmas Day while they’re resting.

But Ramona and Lisa D. will probably have some kind of report on whether Kaman is practicing or sitting out and what’s going on with him. My hope is that the vaunted Camby-Randolph-Kaman debut takes place on MP’s watch. Can’t wait to see it.

Kaman

needs to get his a$$ out there. I’m no doctor. So it’s prolly inappropriate for me to question his toughness. I am just frustrated that he’s not playing. I really like his game, and I think that he would have helped us win/remain competitive in some of these last games.

I like Dunleavy. He’s brought us respectability, but I’m losing patience. I wouldn’t mind seeing Sam come in and leave Dunleavy as the GM. I think the two could work well. A fresh voice could help, and we wouldn’t have to eat the remaining years on Dunleavy’s salary.

It isn't PF anymore

last I heard there were small tears in ankle. Which is why he has been out longer then expected. So it has nothing to do with Kaman it is just the injury. And we wouldn’t have him come back to soon and just re injure it.

What else is new.....

Should I be shock on the way the season is going or heading, No. Its always been the same for the clips and nothing new. Injuries have always plagued this team. With a line up of players that we have there is absolutely no way that our record is what it is, but it is and that’s reality. Its so hard to see the first 5 go in there play crazy minutes and when it comes to our bench support, we lack the players or we lack the support, take your pick.
We need to get a fresh voice in there, someone these players would listen to, but I honestly doubt that will happen unless MDsr decides to step down, yeah right, or Sterling gives him the boot, yea right. We can do some more trades but what good will that do when your always screwing with the team’s chemistry. Sterling has opened his wallet and has allowed MDsr to do as he pleases, so we cant use that excuse anymore. Thats just it we’re running out of excuses. Is that the players fault or is it the coaching…hmmmmmm.
