To Trade Baron?
Hey Clips Nation, this is Baked Biedrins from over at Golden State of Mind. This trade was suggested in a recent fanpost, and I was wondering what some Clippers fans thought of it.
Obviously, it would require not one, but two GMs admitting that they were wrong and taking a mulligan, but it's an interesting one to be sure.
What do you guys think of Baron? Do you think the organization would welcome Maggs back? Is this trade do-able for all parties? Let me know whatcha think.

I saw this
And it seems to me that most NBA fans think that just because the Clippers suck they should be happy to get anything back in return for Baron and Kaman (or any Clipper traded).
I think what most fans of other teams don’t realize is that many Clipper fans like Baron and Kaman and would like to see them playing together. Many Clipper fans would rather see the coach go than to make some trade that would be better for other teams but worse for the Clippers.
I don’t think any fans of any team would think a bad trade is “ok” just because the team has a bad record.
I think trading away a young 20/10 center with an all star caliber point guard for a couple of average bobcats, marcus williams and “Hell No” Maggette-O (injured on top of that) is a BAD BAD trade for the Clips.
Unless there is something seriously wrong with Kaman, like a heart condition that would force him to retire, I would not trade him yet, and not for those guys.
Unless Baron has sustained some career ending injury, I don’t think the Clippers should give up on him either.
I think Corey was loved while he was here but after his remarks about Dunleavy I doubt he would be welcomed back, much less pursued in trade talks.
Plus, I think SJax wants to play WITH Baron. I don’t think he wants to be part of trade that gets Baron there with him going to the Bobcats!

How about this trade?
Th Clippers send Baron to GSW. They get Monta Ellis from GSW and DJ Augustin and Gerald Wallace from the Bobcats. The Bobcats get Kaman from Clippers and Turiaf from GSW.
Hmmmm. The math on that works too and I like that a lot better. Shouldn’t GSW get rid of Monta because of the whole moped thing anyway? And how much is Ronny going to play for Nellie?
I’m sure Larry Brown wouldn’t mind getting rid of a rookie as he tends to hate rooks, and he probably thinks Gerald Wallace is overrated and would trade him in a NY minute to get Kaman and Turiaf.
Haha.

definitley not
but at least Moki’s idea is a little better but I still don’t think it is good enough. If we are trading former all star we should be getting a an all star in return.

Nah
The Warriors management may be dumb and maniacal (or so it seems much of the time) I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t give up Monta AND Ronnie for the Beard.

No Way
This trade might be what we would want to get back for Baron, but it’s not realistic. If we trade Baron or Kaman now, we’d have to sell very low to pull it off. It would be a panic move, and surely Dunleavy has to go before we blow up the core of the team.
Also, this trade idea is ridiculous from the Bobcats perspective. The Bobcats have the lowest scoring team in the NBA, and this trade would leave Boris Diaw as their leading scorer. Crash is not getting traded unless the Bobcats get a better scorer back, and I don’t mean Mags. Also, the Bobcats are not looking to trade Augustine just because Brown is their coach. Felton could be traded, but I don’t think anything is imminent.

moKi's right on this one.
Just because the Clippers are a bad team doesn’t mean that we’re ready to abandon ship. This is the Clippers; stuff like this happens to us. I don’t think more moves is going to improve our standing, especially since we don’t know where we stack up with everybody healthy. Once we get Kaman and Randolph back, I think that we’ll have a somewhat decent idea of where we are and where we want to go. Until then, the Clips are going to hold on to Baron (despite his horrific play).

Love it! The Mavs don’t need the Jet anyway. It’s not like he averages 20 points a night or plays more than 30 minutes a game for them…

The JET is getting older
…and Bellinelli could be a poor man’s Ginobli. Maggs averages 20 a game too. I bet Dallas would jump at this deal.

You can't be serious!
This trade is idiotic, there is no way that golden state trades belinelli, randolph, and maggette for baron davis and paul davis. You must be retarded, the mavericks get belinelli and maggette for jason terry??!!! Come on dude, belinelli and randolph are part of the warriors future and they are not going to just trade them away. Maggs + Marcus Williams could get the warriors baron davis. Both baron and maggs are sucking right now. Do yourself a favor and don’t post any more stuff!

Big Surprise
Baron is more eloquent than Dunleavy, and just a little smarter than Stephen Jackson.
He’s probably had to do more smoothing over this year than he ever has.
1. Reassures that even though EB skipped town, he’s still excited to be in L.A.
2. Responds to Maggette’s “he’s in for a rude awakening” comments…“what corey said was what was in his heart at the time”
3. Acknowledges that Dunleavy has a different system than he is used to, but they’re working it out.
4. Denies reports that he already wants out after 29 games, and that his pal Stephen Jackson wasn’t such an accurate messenger.
Pushing all his sub-par play aside, at least he routinely passes the public relations exams he’s been faced with.

Even Bad Baron better than Maggs
I like the Ellis trade above but I don’t see how the Warriors would trade Ellis when they pretty much let Davis and Pietrus walk so they could resign him and Biedrins.
I’m guessing this is just something for talk shows to talk about when our teams are a combined 25 games under .500

Baron needs to go...
His field goal % is heading to below 25. I thought 30 was bad…right now, Brevin Knight and Dickau is looking pretty good. Heck, bring back Rick Brunson or coax Gary Grant out of the retirement home.

Baron ALMOST won a couple of games for us...
but sadly, they all ended in losses. 8-22 is what it is. It’s not a very good record. But if Baron can finish a game shooting 8-22 one of these days, I would consider it a breakout game for him. Imagine…Baron shooting 36%! I will join Darryl in the Baron MVP chant.

About the first proposed trade
I think there is one thing that goes unnoticed in the trade involving kaman and baron…its not really about who the clippers get back, its the contracts they get back. Instead of owing baron and kaman a combined $100+million over the next 4-5 years, you can instead owe maggette half of that over the same amount of time. If you notice, the contracts of williams, may and felton all expire after this year. The clips would have quite a few bucks to spend, especially in the derby of 2010, where maybe they would find a suitor for the dunleavy system that just doesnt work for baron…at all. It gets the clips out of bad contracts, give the warriors players perfect for there system, and gives the bobcats players to help build under the larry brown regime. The warriors are not going to give up too much youn talent to bring him back, but at least under this scenario, the clips get a do-over card. Plus, in a year or two, maggette and his contract will be moveable as the length of time shortents…dont write this trade off on its face clip nation, there is a big benefit for the clips. Remember, the warriors got baron for speedy claxton and dale davis because he made himself worthless during his unhappy tenure in new orleans/charlotte…the same thing can happen under dunleavy with the clippers if their 8-22 record turns into a 50-114 record over the next season and a half

When are the warriors going to get it
WE DONT WANT MAGS, we already got rid of him and we aren’t going to take him back. And we definitely not trading both Kaman and BD at the same time. One or the other but definitely not both.

"Baron goes 4-17 with a sore back." nice !.. wow does that sound familiar... watch what happens
next,,,,he will sit out 5 or 6 games while they try to work out a trade. I do not want an old broken down point guard who has a body of a 40 year old on my team. As bad a magette is he will be playing in the league longer than baron. As usual the Clips got clipped on this deal.

Its not like Mags
isn’t always injured and we know that better then any team. Just face it there is no way a trade between GSW and Clips is going to happen.
