MDSr Implies DWade Cheats
Interesting article. MDSr is now spending time unnecessarily dissing one of the NBA's top three stars.
Wonder what positive developments can come from that. Probably doesn't help the Clippers' long-term goal of signing top free agents.
In addition, as Wade says, maybe MDSr should be worrying about his own team:
"There's a lot of things going on that could be called," Wade said. "So if you want to nitpick at everything, then he doesn't have enough to do. He needs to do something else."
I think MDSr has enough to do trying to right the 3-15 ship that is the Clippers. Hopefully he'll get to that.

Cheating?...reallly?
Is carrying the ball over cheating? If the refs call it, then it’s a turnover. If not, then it’s not. A misuse of the word “cheating” I would think. It’s not like he is using steroids or putting vaseline on his jersey. I am I pretty sure Wade is not doing it on purpose either. He is just getting away with what the refs allow him to do.
I think MDsr’s comments might be taken a little out of context as well. The Clips have been getting hammered with the “carry” call lately (Taylor, Thorton and EJ in particular), and MDsr might just be trying to buy his guys some cred. Also, MDsr also is totally complimentary of DWade and his game, so I doubt he is in his office ruminating over DWade and his apparent ability to “carry” the ball and not get called for it. Not to mention that it appears the refs changed their call at the end of that Clips v. Miami game only after DWade complained…even though the correct call had already been made.

I’m just wondering why MDSr is focusing on such nitpicky (DWade’s word) issues when he’s got far bigger fish to fry. Seems to me MDSr can’t see the forest for the trees.

One would have to totally hate MDSr to come up with the fanposter’s conclusions.
I mean the original NBA.com article was from the day after the game, which included the part about them confirming that CS (and Ziller, et al) were correct that Wade was out of bounds and it should have been Clippers ball. So the timing of saying that Wade gets away with walking seems appropriate and in no way distracting him from anything since they were likely from his post-game comments after the Heat game. What better time to talk about the opponent you just faced?
Then on the actual subject on if he carries the ball and gets away with it, yeah he does. It was noted by multiple people here. I’d aggressively deflect too if I was him. Its a common tactic of politicians when they are wrong. Its not clear that Wade would have an NBA career if he was held to the same dribbling rules as Gordon has been. I mean he might, but given that he has his own set of rules we don’t know how competitive he would actually be if he were held to the common standard. It would be interesting if he would be so fast or willing to be so out of control if he was allowed that skip step he takes before every spin move.
And as to Wade being a top 3 star in the NBA today? Well that’s obviously false no matter how you want to define star.
I, for one, would like to see how good he is without him going into the lane knowing he is going to get the benefit of calls like this:

The point here is that MDSr seems nitpicky as Wade said. Indeed, you’re rather like MDSr – can’t see the forest for the trees – disputing whether DWade is a top 3 talent. Ok – top 5? 6? Let me know. Hey – are you MDSr?
I guess you think Wade sucks: “it’s not clear Wade would have an NBA career if . . .” I don’t know, I would tend to think he’d do ok.

As to your last point
77% of Clipper Nation voting on this site think MDSr should immediately be fired or resign. I’m not among that 77%. I guess you think all of those voters must hate the Clippers.
Point is that you seem to confuse criticism of a coach with hatred of the team. That’s rather like confusing criticism of Zionism with being anti-semitic.
John R – it’s ok to be critical of the coach of your team. It’s also ok to be critical of players (you hate Maggette for example). Neither means you hate the team.

Read the original NBA.com article. MDsr never used the word cheater. Winderman put that particular word in his mouth. Usually a coach wouldn’t call out a particular player, but on the other hand it’s not that unusual for coaches to point out that their opponent is getting some sort of special treatment.
But obviously I don’t disagree with what MDsr is saying. Heck, I said it first.

But that’s not my point. My point is that MDSr has far more important things to worry about now then whether DWade is traveling. Which is what DWade basically said. Since he’s not a respected coach at this point, no one respects him anyway.

To miami Jax cause you are imature and starting pointless fights with what I would think are your fellow clipper fans. I cant describe anyway to exsplain the call wade got on the clippers esspicaly in a curcial moment but to say mdsr said he was cheating is so far from the truth. get your facks straight and say what mdsr really did say not what somebody said he did. and as far as being off base with the team for a comment well choaches allways make comments all the time i doubt he missed a practice writing hes speach on how wade cheats and any choach would have made a statment after a game like that. The clippers are having some tough times but mdsr at least got u a team after brand left and i can say i bet u mdsr loses more sleep about the clippers losses then any other new choach would!

and that was not how they boiled it down! They did say that other guards are doing it as well so its hard to say. Maclean said they are calling it more often this year on other guards and that they would need to look at wade on a game to game basis to really know if he was getting the benifet of the doubt. One again you take story and spin it your own way against the clippers thats very classy man. Nba is about marketing if micheal eves and don maclean said what they really felt they wouldnt have jobs cause they are here to promote guys like wade who are poster boys for the NBA but if u listen to what many choaches have said who are trying to get the leuage on track im sure they would all say the same thing in hopes that refs would take a look at wade a bit closer. Also if you checked out that link i posted you will see more people not just in clipper nation but all over agree that wade is traveling and gets special treatment.

This is really a non-issue. My point – my only point – is that he needs to focus his injuries on getting the Clippers to win games. D Wade said as much. Don and Michael said as much. Yes he carries the ball. So does AI, Kobe, et al.

Where you said you voted to keep him but you just said you never thought he was a good choach thats kinda weird. Also I feel mdsr is probbly doing more then anybody to get the team on track if u compare rookies to vets the clipers are rookies with a new team. You honesty are here to make a fight saying mdsr spends more time on issues like wade then the team then ur crazy look at how many moves hes made to get this team some players that shows he cares and their is more blame on players then choach right now we play in spurts our second unit is not consitent at all and cant provide are starters with a break they need and we dont have the heart yet and if u change the choach you just make the team even more of a rookie and thats how we will never get a groove and become a good team in this leauge. I also have to say with the type of players we habe mdsr sytem will work great once everyone is in tune cause we have great one on one players and zach runs brands plays better then he did.

I don’t think that the team can just fire a coach without a plan. They would have neither a GM nor a coach in that situation. They need a GM to formulate the plan. Roeser and DTS can’t do it.
I’ve never said he doesn’t care. I think he does care. I just think that he’s not a good coach. I don’t like his offensive sets and the team is not playing good defense. The players don’t respond to him. What exactly do you like about his system?

Well i know mdsr is the only GM who has gotten sterling to spend money and with all that has happened he has acually put a team together. We just got randolph and Mdsr offence releys on a low post threat and as we have all seen we are getting better even if we fall off in the fourth quarter and that is not on the choach its on the players. They start to free lance in the fourth cause they feel momentum and they lose it. we have not seen this team in full force and like anything it takes time we still havnt seen kaman with zbo and ricky is still out. I belive we can be a threat next year and to think we could have this year would be a bit much with all the talent in the west. by getting a new gm and a new choach would just be a new hurtle to overcome. Mdsr put this team together so i feel we should let him see what he can do this season if we dont play much improved basketball in the second half of the season then we might look into getting a new coach in the off season. Times are hard for the clippers and ther is alot of exspectiations for this team I unfortannly feel its on the players at this point and they really need to work it out among them selfs which is why we still need to go on some more long road trips so the team is forced to deal with the issues more I dont think many of them know each other well enough but thats just me cause we may have some vet but we are a new team we are ROOKIES and its the clippers who dont get respect not the choach and I think the refs prove that on a nighty basis with guys like wade who come into staples and do whatever they want.

at least that he will be given the year to see if he can make it work. I don’t think that he will be successful, but I’ve been wrong before. What I want is for Clipper Nation to stand up for their team and not continue to make excuses for incompetence.
Let’s see what happens.
