2 Key additions to the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2008 Summer

The Clippers should sign Monte Ellis and Gerald Green in the summer of 2008.
When the Clippers sign these two players, their roster would include:

Chris Kaman
Elton Brand
Corey Maggette
Gerald Green (HOU)
Monta
Ellis (GS)

Tim Thomas
Al  Thornton
Shaun Livingston
Cuttino Mobley
Brevin Knight

If they decided to sign the following:
Paul Davis
Josh Powell
2 Draft picks

Gerald Green and Monta Ellis contracts end after the 2007 - 2008 NBA Season. The NBA Free Agency rules are explained by USA Today . Gerald Green and Monta Ellis become free agents in the middle of July. They can visit facilities earlier.

Ellis

Ellis is not going to happen. The clippers can offer no more than the mid level exception, and there’s no way Monta Ellis is signing anywhere for that.

Green might be worth a look, but three different teams have completely given up on the guy in less than 12 months. That is a very, very bad sign. Everyone agrees that he’s talented, and if they’ll let NBDL players into the dunk contest, then he’s there. But apparently he’s a complete knucklehead incapable of understanding an offensive or defensive scheme.

The Clippers! The (second) Best NBA Team in LA!
