What do we need to compete for #4 seed...

Just a question. Wanted to know what you guys thought we are lacking to compete with the upper eshilougn(missed spelled) of the western conference. IMO I think we need to take Ryan Gomes so he could back up the Thorn and sign a veteran Center/PF as a safety net. I like our young guys but we need a veteran their to take some minutes plust if one of our 2 bigs go down for 10 games then what start Jordan?? Doesn’t sound good to me but with those position additions I think we are good to go and competing with utah/houston/phoenix.

Gomes is a nice piece

But at what price?

With Denver sending away Miller, Camby and the Molester in the last couple of years, they have taken themselves out of their spot.

Fazekas as the third pure C is pretty nice at this point.

Get me BD and 75 and I'm in

Become the lakers...........

Sorry but your squad is no where close to being elite…........dont let the Camby ick up fool you…..he got let go for a reason….......Denver had better players around him and they got swept….hard.

Ellis to the rim!

The day I take the comments of someone named “Sprewell4President” seriously is the day I get my house repossessed… you know, kinda like Sprewell.

No one else played D on Denver except Camby

This is why they got swept in the playoffs. Team defense is what’s needed to get out of the 1st round and by acquiring Camby we now have a very strong defensive presence in the paint. All we need now is a good backup wing man that can hit 3’s…hey, how about your Sasha!

All I want for Easter is a playoff berth

ew

you cowards should not even be thinking about making the playoffs, much less winning your division.

LOL

We are “cowards”? Why? Please elaborate, Braveheart.

If things go right (#1 health, #2 chemistry), the Clips are a solid road playoff team. Not even the most optimistic fans here think we will win the Pacific. But things are looking way up since Black Tuesday.

Winning it all?

We’re going straight to the NBA Finals!

Maybe I’m delusional… I think anything is possible once you hit the playoffs…

If the Clippers make the playoffs

their defense will make them dangerous.

wow

they have maybe the 9th best defense in the west. Maybe the 10th best offense. And somehow that equals championship? If camby couldnt get out of the first round with a better team that he had played with for years, then how is he supposed to take the clips to the finals?

you people are rediculous

9th best defense in the west?

Let’s break this down as I think you aren’t looking at the “new” Clippers team as a whole, but in bits in pieces of previous seasons:

Chris Kaman -no question about his rebounding and shot blocking abilities. Energetic big man who hussles and can play straight up defense.

Marcus Camby – getting older, but still agile for a big. Great weak side defense compliment to Kaman and is also an outstanding rebounder.

Al Thornton – a big SF. I would almost say a hybrid PF/SF. Has the body, but needs to learn the defensive game a bit, it’s possible that he will by the time playoffs begin.

Eric Gordon / Cat Mobley – EG is a decent defender also a strong body, but may be on the short side. Cat Mobley is an underrated defender and is better than most think despite his size.

Baron Davis – a big PG. A relatively good defender as far as PG’s are concerned (certainly not “The Glove” in his prime).

I know it seems like the arguments about skill of the last three made my arguments weaker, but a huge factor is we are BIG. This is a BIG and quick team. Sometimes size matters.
