Eric Gordon/Marcus Camby/Uniforms/Logo
Hi guys,
I just want to start by saying I am a huge clippers fan even though I have only been a fan for about 3 years. About 3 years ago I went to LA for a holiday with my family and just fell in love with the team. I've been reading alot on this blog and it is my fav blog on the net and just wanted to say thank you for everyones hard work that goes into this site as I can't wait to check it each day, and now feel very excited that I can hopefully contribute and be a part of your community. I was born and still live in the south of England and I think can say that i'm the biggest clippers fan I know down here. A lot of people I talk to have only heard of the Lakers and deny the Clippers even exist! Crazy world we live in.
Anyway, With the Marcus Camby press conferance I noticed that he was holding up a number "23" jersey. I wondered to myself - Isn't this Eric Gordons number which he chose after wearing the number in college? jSo then I noticed that on www.nba.com/clippers/roster Eric is listed as wearing number "10". I wonder if Marcus kind of just took the number off of Eric due his vet status or do you think that Eric was smart enough to demand a small payout? We may never know but it would be a nice way to top up that rookie contract in the first year...
Also what do you guys think about the logo/uniforms? Do they need to be changed? Updated maybe? What with Milwaukee, New Orleans (back to the pinstripes), possibly Orlando (might wait till next year when they move to the new arena), Toronto, Denver, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Sacramento all changing there uniforms and/or updating there logos should the Clippers join in the fun? Especially with the return of black jerseys as alternates (Toronto will be getting one).

I think....
That since the team is going in a new direction (winning), that this might not be a bad idea. I would love to see the Clips get something nasty and mean like the black raptors unis. I doubt it would happen, but it could be fun. Welcome to the board!!!

Yes!
The Clips need new unis to go with their new team… they basically haven’t changed their logo or the basic format of their uni’s since the 80’s and it’s not like they’re a franchise steeped in tradition.

I have a Brand alternate black jersey with red and white lettering that looks better than the current jerseys.. probably wind up setting it on fire though.

Another International Clips Nation Citizen!
In the last few weeks we’ve had lurkers come out of the shadows from Germany, Argentina and now England. Welcome.
On the Camby and Gordon thing, we noticed that too, at the Camby press conference. Rookies always lose out on this kind of thing, but USUALLY they can get some sort of compensation. I haven’t heard anything, but maybe Marcus had to give the kid a Rolex or something.
On the unis, I did a Q&A with another blogger last year (unfortunately, I can’t remember which one, and it’s on his site, not mine). He complimented the Clippers unis, and I had to agree. The thing is, the Clippers are SO bad at marketing that they haven’t changed the logo hardly ever, and they rarely change the uniform – other than little tweaks. But the primary colors now look retro, even though they never went away from them. I HATE the Denver powder blue, the Hornets teal, the Warriors gold / orange – all of those wacky, not really a color colors. (I guess I should write colour just for you.) So I really like where the unis are right now, especially as compared to the rest of the league. I mean, who else has a regular old royal blue uni? No one. Even the standard fire engine red is going away.

Yeah...
Funny how they went there right after Kiki took the reins. He also signed Kenyon Martin for 7 years at the max. Neither was a good decision, though I’m not sure which was worse.

Blue Road Alternate Jerseys
I think they just need to start primarily wearing the blue road alternate jerseys.. At least wear them more than the red ones.. I love the red ones too though!
