Micheal Redd

all i been hearing is that the clipps should go after vince carter , I say no Vince is getting old and his game is declining rapidly. also he has what 3-4 years left on his contract this would be a bad pick up.

if anything the clipps should go after Micheal redd he puts up big numbers,he's younger than Vince. And i think he would fit into the system perfectly.

After that i know that we would be in the hole for reserses for the PF, Maybe we can get a veteran PF and Center such as PJ.Brown, Alonza Mourning, Elson, or Piatkowski.

And to fill out the roster we can sign Livy, ross, Davis,Powell to minimum contracts

potental starting lineup

B.Davis

Redd

Thorton

Camby

Kaman

potental Bench

Ricky Davis, Hart, Gordon, Livy, Ross,Powell,P.Davis,Jordan

Piatkowski or PJ Brown for Reserve for PF position

Mourning or Elson for reserve for the C position

We would still have money for 2010 due to Camby contracts endeds in 2010

and ricky davis contract ends as well leaving us with about 12-13 million to try to sign a Star PF in 2010

why would milwaukee who just traded for jefferson, then trade away their star player? that doesnt make any sense…especially since they signed bogut to a huge deal, it doesnt sound like they want to blow up the team

i doubt

the bucks would be willing to trade him yet. They just made a trade for a legit Sf in jefferson and the duo of redd and jefferson with a rising bogut could make the playoffs in the weak east. If they’re doing bad by the trade deadline or miss the playoffs we might be able to make a run at him next year.

I think everyone needs to relax a little… the thomas, mobley and other expiring contracts will only get more valuable as teams look to clear cap space for 2010.

Also dont forget the we will have A LOT of cap space and some good pieces in place. i’ve heard we could have somewhere around 30 million. thats a lot of cash to go after a big free agnet (or 2 starting at 15 mil.)

Its very true

Baron Davis, Chris Kaman, Al Thornton, Eric Gordon and as much as $30M in cap space, either in the form of raw space or as several nicely priced contracts perfectly set up for sign and trades. However the Clippers want it. It might fall down to like $20-25M though after they have to field a team next year. Still very nice.

To break that up now, you gotta be certain, right? I’m just not certain about Redd.

Get me BD and 75 and I'm in

also

if it was to happen micheal redd has and early termination option for 2010 so if he were to opt out we would still have the same cap for 2010 that we would have if we were to keep Mobley and TT

relying on a player to opt out to give cap space?

That sounds a lot like the knicks plan. haha

I think if the clippers were to SOMEHOW land redd or any other player with and option, they would need to plan on that player being a part of their roster because an “ETO” in entirely up to the player.

If we’re looking to upgrade we have to look at teams that dont really have a chance and have some servicable vets, but like I said, the clips shouldn’t be in a rush to do anything.

We should be cautiously optimistic about our teams chances currently this year. We got lucky this offseason and just happened to land baron, camby and rickyD and slightly weaken two other playoff contenders, but in the process we had to let our 2 best players walk.

The Clips didn't exactly...

let their 2 best players walk….FElton left of his own accord. They did, however let Mags go, even though he let the Clips counter the W’s offer, which they declined.
You point is well taken about the ETO’s….look at what happened this year! If it weren’t for ETO’s, the clips would most likely be shopping Maggette AND Brand this summer….and NOT have landed BDiddy.
Bottom line….say no to Redd, say no to Carter, and lets see where this Clipper ship is going to take us this year….

um....

Piatkowski to play PF???? Seeing as he is 6’-6” and a shooting guard, I’m pretty sure Piatkowski will never play power forward…. for any team.

Oh me, oh my!!!! The Red Baron has come home!!

Pike can play PF...

For my Rec League. He would look like Shaq out there.

Anyways, I doubt Redd would opt out of 18 million in 2010 when he’ll be 31 years old. He’ll probably be a MLE guy for his next deal.

If we were to trade for Redd as proposed we would probably only have 10 million in 2010 as his option is for 18 million. Not enough to get a stud PF, at best we find a decent replacement for Camby’s production.
