LA Clippers Announce Training Camp Schedule
There's nothing we weren't expecting in the Clippers' press release about training camp. It is however the first verification that the new training facility is ready - Media Day is next Monday afternoon and camp opens Tuesday morning, Sept. 30th.
The Los Angeles Clippers will hold training camp prior to the 2008-09 season at their new, state-of-the-art training center in Playa Vista from September 30th through October 7th.
So no more Santa Barbara - it's Playa Vista from now on. As for that fancy-schmancy, NASA-developed exercise machine they got for the rehabs of Shaun Livingston and Elton Brand, I'm sure it will make a lovely planter.
Does anyone out there know when the season ticket holder event at the training center is going to happen?
All of the training camp sessions in Playa Vista are closed to the public. There is however an open scrimmage at Camp Pendleton on Saturday, October 4th, from 1:30 to 3:00. Unfortunately, I'll be coaching ClipperMax's soccer team at that time, so I won't be taking a road trip down the 5. But you guys should go without me. I'll be fine. You go. Have fun. Tell me what happens. Take some pictures. I'll be fine. Really.

question on open scrimmage
clippersteve, few questions on clips’ open scrimmage: 1) do i need military id, 2) where is it on the base; maybe these are self-explanatory, i just want to be sure before making the drive with my wife and future clipper fan-son, who is 8 months.
any thing else you know about the scrimmage?
