ho hum, quentin ross a Grizz

Quentin Ross signed a contract with Memphis Grizzlies Friday, according to their website.  Just in case any one is interested in former Clipper, who hopefully can crack the rotation of the last year's (I think) worst team in NBA.  Correct me if I am wrong. While he will shore up their perimeter defense, I don't think he will score points from the perimeter, as Clips fans can attest. He's a win-lose player on perimeter.

i guess you can say that

but thats only because they rested dwade for most of the season. Memphis and OKC are probably the worst teams because they are the only two teams that have been in the top 5 of the draft for the past 2 seasons.next comes new york, new jersey, Minnesota etc… but it really doesn’t mater, i think we can all agree Memphis isn’t very good.

I’m a bit surprised to see Q go there though. I thought for sure he would be picked up by a team like Boston… because they don’t necessarily need him for offense and we all know he is a great defender. I think he has a role in this league but he can only show it when he has talent around him. Signing with Memphis might be a good thing now, but he’s going to be off the radar even more than the clippers were and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is his last team in the nba.

Wwe said it last season...

Q has no place on a bad team. The paradox is that he can make an important contribution to a good team, but he’s too one-dimensional, and bad teams can’t have 1D players on the court.

In this world, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. - Elwood P. Dowd

Q Ross was almost blind in one eye!

He was a 20 point scorer in college that’s why I was fairly surprised when he could’nt score 8 points consistently even with all the minutes he was getting.

Check this out:

From JamFan
“OK guys, I saved this one for this day because now Q is gone. I spoke last year about a Clipper player who had a hard to believe medical condition but after this news was revealed to me I asked the Clipper source, their team physician at the time, if they really wanted it to be publicized…..and the response came back NO. So I honored the team and the player. But Q is gone. And over the years many have spoken how Q was only a great defensive player. Well there is a reason for that. Q is almost completely blind in one eye. If you think it’s easy to shoot a basketball with one eye, put a patch on and go out and try it. It kills your depth perception. In fact, I have known this for a couple of years now and I have always been very surprised at how well Q could shoot under the circumstances. Good player, great man.”

8.2 points per 36 with one eye

16.4 with full binocular vision?

And 24.5 if

he had a good jump shot and stereoscopic vision

Im not convinced

Even Maggette only averages 19.9 per 36 for his career with both eyes and no regard for winning.

Reading between the lines . . .

Apparently someone’s trying to tell us that he doesn’t like Corey. John R must be one heck of a player.

I have a hard time believing

that the clips would be able to hold that type of secret for so long. If it was true we would have heard stories of how a kid that is nearly blind in one eye who still made it into the NBA.

QRoss has some redeeming qualities

As ClipperSteve has said many times before, he’s a guy that makes a good team better, not a bad team good. Some guys are just as productive playing 25 min as 35 min, QRoss and TT are like that. Unfortunately for the Clips, TT and QRoss were put in positions to be overly productive…which they aren’t good at. Oh well, best of luck to QRoss….he really is one of the premier defenders in the league.

I love LAC.
