Is Dirk on the trading block?

Boy is it quiet here on Clips Nation. Things are stabilizing in the NBA and it seems the Clippers roster is set for the year. Nevertheless, NBA.com is reporting that Dirk Nowitski may actually be on the trading block. If this is true, the Clippers should definitely bid on him as he is a perennial all star, MVP candidate and all round superstar. The Clippers also have the trade pieces that Dallas covets.

To replace Dirk, I would offer Randolph. Yes I love this guy as much as the next Clipper fan, but lets be realistic – Dirk is an all round better player. To match salaries, we would also need to throw in Baron Davis (a franchise player to replace Jason Kidd) and also throw in Al Thornton to give them some young talent. In return we would get Dirk, Josh Howard and JJ Barrera.

Clippers Out: Zach Randolph, Baron Davis (or Marcus Camby), Al Thornton

Clippers In: Dirk Nowitski, JJ Barera, Josh Howard

Would anybody on this forum take this deal if it was offered?

Screw Howard!

Hi classless, racial, and unpatriotic remarks kill the deal for me. I don’t want to win that much. Maybe just Zach and Davis for Dirk and Barera if the salary swap can work out.

Jason Terry would also work

He would be an ideal fit, but I doubt Dallas would let him go.

Guys guys....

Dirk is on a downhill slope too…why must we always pick people on the downslope?

why would you bother with dirk?

if we are going to play the dunleavy offense, zach’s post up game is about 5000 times as good as dirks.

i mean they are both completely defenseless, and dirk is better at hitting the 3, but zach is a much better post up threat and probably a better rebounder too.

no reason to trade Randolph and Al

this is definitely not a good trade idea unless we get Terry which would be virtually impossible.

hell no

i wouldn’t take that trade. thornton will probably end up being better than howard and dirk has been and always will be a soft player. not to mention he can’t rebound as well as zach. why would we want to trade away a 20-10 guy, one of the best PG’s in the league, and one of the best sophomores in the league?

Are you kidding

I’ll start off by saying I’m a Maverick fan. But, Dirk, Howard, and Berara for Davis, Randolph, and Thorton. Are you joking?!

Dirk, yes, he’s a Euro Weenie (actual term used by some broadcasters), but he’s still a top player. And if he weren’t such a Euro Weenie and play inside, he’d show that he has a pretty good post up game.

Davis is hurt half the time, but I’ll admit could be a top player if he ever stayed healthy long enough.

Thorton nice upside and maybe someday he is better than Howard, maybe.

Randolph is a 20-10 when he wants which isn’t too often. He’s also a loser. Why would anyone want him?

Then again, after that disasterous Jason Kidd trade, who knows what Cuban is thinking.

have you watch randolph this season

because he has 20-10 almost every game as a clipper if i recall correctly. As a clipper i wouldn’t take this trade, as a mav fan would do it without thinking.
