First!

Haha.. anyways looks like Baron AND Camby are playing tonight.. should be a good game.
Fred Jones is now officially a Clipper for the rest of the year

anyone got stream?

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 7:36 PM PST reply actions

quiet in here

nice camby and baron in the game

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 8:01 PM PST reply actions

Just found a stream…phew….

EJ lokos frustrated as he check out. Refs didn’t make some calls for hmi

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:04 PM PST reply actions

he missed an easy layup . and bricked a 3 badly

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 8:05 PM PST up reply actions

bulls are screening the hell out of us and we can’t cope. Simple screens too. Urgh…

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:05 PM PST reply actions

end of 1 – 22 – 19 in Bulls favour

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:06 PM PST reply actions

Hey cantthinkofagoodname – psyched BD and Marcus are back tonight?

I’ma alittle concerned it’ll have an adverse affect as they’ll both be rusty. No idea how many minutes they’ll play. I imagine baron plays about 25 but marcus will try and play 30-33.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:08 PM PST reply actions

oh no doubt about camby

I hope baron is 100% because I don’t want him to come back unless he is… In truth, I’d like tto see some more mardy collins running the show.

I think your min allocation would probably be accurate.

any predictions for tonight?

by cantthinkofagoodname on Jan 28, 2009 8:12 PM PST up reply actions

Aron Gray and one?!?!

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:10 PM PST reply actions

Marcus was slow to recover defensively on that play so aaron gray scores.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:13 PM PST reply actions

As always, I’m quite confident. But then I did still feel that we could get back into the warriors game with only 3 minutes left when clearly there was no chance.

We need EJ to be hitting tonight and for that to happen we need to get him curling off screens. he’s had to go away from that in the last game or two as he’s taken more pg duties but hopefully with Baron back we can see the real EJ again.

Hmm…I’ll say a tight game – no-one over 100…91-87 …clips win.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:16 PM PST reply actions

How is VDN a coach in the NBA? How was that allowed to happen?

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:16 PM PST reply actions

Why the hell are we doubling Aaron gray?! AAORAN GRAY people!!

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:17 PM PST reply actions

Tied at 29. Bulls call time.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:19 PM PST reply actions

gordon

is playing like a scrub right now

by C's Up on Jan 28, 2009 8:23 PM PST reply actions

EJ is struggling because he’s not being given plays to score on. Dude is a scorer and not much else, so MDsr has to let him score.

At know point should Ricky Davis be taking more shots than Gordon.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:25 PM PST reply actions

Next play down the floor…runs ej off a screen and he hits the 3. BINGO!

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:27 PM PST reply actions

I can’t believe they left him that wide open LOL

by CLiPPz WeRD 12 on Jan 28, 2009 8:28 PM PST reply actions

There’s the Baron we know! Shot jack styles LOL

by CLiPPz WeRD 12 on Jan 28, 2009 8:31 PM PST reply actions

Lawler just talking about Baron davids’ injury and said ‘A lot of people think these guys are happy to be injured at not play and take their tmie coming back but they don’t realise that playing is easier than rehab!‘…..unless you’re playing for the clips.

Also, our defense is APPALLING. Bulls are able to get any jumpshot they want and can drive at will.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:34 PM PST reply actions

BD misses the breakaway layin

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:36 PM PST reply actions

He’s keepin’ us in the run for Griffin!

:D

by CLiPPz WeRD 12 on Jan 28, 2009 8:37 PM PST up reply actions

dang missed some easy shots

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 8:36 PM PST reply actions

EJ then missed the easy putback. Clipperball at it’s best!

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:36 PM PST reply actions

EJ has 10 tonight on 3-11 shooting.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:39 PM PST reply actions

EJ get's a lay-up to go in

We must be shooting 30% from under the rim

The World Series would be a lot better if the Angels were in it.

by Andyman on Jan 28, 2009 8:39 PM PST reply actions

we’re shooting 37% vs. 45% and we’re only 3-4 points down. EJ is 3-11…

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 8:41 PM PST reply actions

Bulls lead 3 at the half: -47-44

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:42 PM PST reply actions

Maybe EJ is uncomfortable with Baron in the lineup?

by CLiPPz WeRD 12 on Jan 28, 2009 8:42 PM PST reply actions

Onyl down 3 at the half

The World Series would be a lot better if the Angels were in it.

by Andyman on Jan 28, 2009 8:42 PM PST reply actions

Coach dunleavy said the reaosn we’re down is because we’ve missed 4 layups…NO, IT’S BECAUSE YOU’RE A BAD COACH.

Although in this case, he’s actually right.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 8:58 PM PST reply actions

haha. he also said we’ve been playing good D

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:00 PM PST up reply actions

Completely agree with that. We’re standing off guys and when we do et up, we get too close and they blow by.
And our transition defence is non-existent.

First two offensive possessions of the 2nd half were hurried due to an expiring shot clock.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:01 PM PST reply actions

Shocker…derrick rose hits a jumpshot.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:02 PM PST reply actions

was that play for skinner??? why….

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:02 PM PST reply actions

F*ck this. 56-46 time out clips. That was an awful spell.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:03 PM PST reply actions

too many jump shots to start the 2nd half

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:03 PM PST reply actions

good way to start the half

by baronycamby on Jan 28, 2009 9:06 PM PST reply actions

damn another missed layup!!!!! our offensive is very stagnant… we waste the majority of the shot clock standing around…

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:06 PM PST reply actions

a rebound would be nice

by baronycamby on Jan 28, 2009 9:11 PM PST reply actions

4 offesnive rebounds on the same play for the bulls…..

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:11 PM PST reply actions

wow EJ is off big time. just air balled a 3. decent look too

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:13 PM PST reply actions

Game over…. 15 point bulls lead.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:13 PM PST reply actions

Noah might have got a piece of it

Eric Gordon ROY!

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:14 PM PST reply actions

ugly attempt of a layup by baron

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:14 PM PST reply actions

horrible defense rotation. and now turnover baron

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:15 PM PST reply actions

I’m confused – ricky davis was laughing after he hit a wide open three…but we’re down 14..what’s he laughing about? Fool.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:16 PM PST reply actions

u know watching ricky davis celebrating really got me sick

i mean man you are loosing by 14, you just make a 3pter ok good but don’t laugh and celebrate as if it is all OK, it’s not

by XXDC2XX on Jan 28, 2009 9:16 PM PST reply actions

maybe cause he actually made a basket! lol

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:16 PM PST reply actions

completely agree XXDC2XX

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:17 PM PST reply actions

games not over yet guys..still could win

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:19 PM PST reply actions

we are winning.....

a better chance in the lottery….. i actually want to stop watching the game but clippers game are so rarely in tv in peru that i have to treasure this precious minutes even if we are playing the way we are playing

by XXDC2XX on Jan 28, 2009 9:20 PM PST up reply actions

Peru?

They actually show Clippers games in Peru? I am astounded…you know sometimes, they won’t even show Clippers game in Los Angeles…and they’re local ball club…the Clippers often gets bumped off the Fox Sports Net telecast by girls high school field hockey games.

by MichaelCage on Jan 28, 2009 11:03 PM PST up reply actions

they don't usually do

but i just recently get nba tv as part of the new upgrade in my cable so now i can see one nba game per day and well after two weeks of watching almost all the other teams yesterday was clippers turn, but we actually got a good nba coverage here, we got 1 game on espn on wednesday and 1 on friday and one local channel has 1 game on saturday and occasionally one on sunday (and they kinda love the spurs so almost all the game are spurs), plus now with nba tv they are way more games.

by XXDC2XX on Jan 29, 2009 8:49 AM PST up reply actions

skinner blows a wide open dunk…noah stuffs his.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:20 PM PST reply actions

we’re shooting 32%. skinner just missed a dunk. and we’re not playing defense. sigh. even novak just missed.

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:20 PM PST reply actions

i like how lawler was talking about the most disappointing teams so far this year and neglected to mention us.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:20 PM PST reply actions

down 20 to begin the 4th. 73-53

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:21 PM PST reply actions

our highest score is fred jones with 11.

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:22 PM PST reply actions

just remember

this year draft is weak so we need a really high pick to get something good

by XXDC2XX on Jan 28, 2009 9:22 PM PST reply actions

yes, why???? just the 1st year of his contract and the guy has been injured most of it

we should give him more time, trade him seems exaggerated, give him more time.

by XXDC2XX on Jan 28, 2009 9:25 PM PST reply actions

Wow that is the lamest excuse i have ever heard

an all star caliber player like baron should be in immediate impact on the team. I knew he was no use for the clipper franchise the first quarter of the first game. Just get rid of him already.

by highriser on Jan 28, 2009 9:28 PM PST up reply actions

ok, let's assume trading him is a good idea(which is not)

what do you want to get for him, and who do you put at PG ???

by XXDC2XX on Jan 28, 2009 9:30 PM PST up reply actions

i would put cheik samb at point gaurd

but seriously, baron is really inefficient. He slows down the entire offense overrall. He should just stick to the Jason Kidd style kind of play.

by highriser on Jan 28, 2009 9:37 PM PST up reply actions

And you’ve made this decision based on how many games? I’m pretty sure if MDsr gave Baron the green light to play like he did in Oakland, he’d lap it up. My money is on him being told to not go allout crazy.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:38 PM PST up reply actions

He makes 1 shot out of 10 attempts!

Elite Player? Definitely not this game. Doesn’t deserve to sit out in the fourth. Let him play all the way.

by highriser on Jan 28, 2009 9:44 PM PST up reply actions

What’s the problem Highriser? Did Baron offend you when you were a kid?! I understand people not liking the whole injury mess but dude is pure talent. Playing a in a system which suits him, he’s one of the most effective players in the league.

Whether Dunleavy hels the team by doing that, is another thing altgether.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:48 PM PST up reply actions

Baron is playing like crap...

even the earlier hard core Baron supporters in our section have changed their tune about the guy…I think opinion runs almost 90% against Baron now among season ticket holders.

by MichaelCage on Jan 28, 2009 11:05 PM PST up reply actions

DJ just got schooled by aaron gray… foul and 1

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:26 PM PST reply actions

DJ on the alley from BD!!!

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:27 PM PST reply actions

another lob to DJ this time from EJ.

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:28 PM PST reply actions

Trading BD is a kneejerk reaction. people seem intent on blaming our woes on him. Okay, so he has sat out a while with an injury? Was he exagerrating how serious it was? Maybe. But that’s in the past. He’s an elite player in this league and he actualyl wante dto play here – name me anyone else who wants to do that? Plus even if they actually wanted ot trade him a $65 mill 5 year contract is too much for a lot of teams.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:29 PM PST reply actions

DJ really needs to work on his free throws. I think he’s like 12% from the line.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:32 PM PST reply actions

he’s 33% which is pretty bad.

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:33 PM PST reply actions

Great save Ricky..and it’s good to see Baron has some of his explosiveness back.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:35 PM PST reply actions

Nice play EJ! Young man is strong.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:37 PM PST reply actions

DJ alley oop again!!

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:40 PM PST reply actions

I love having DeAndre on this team.. He is making up for SO many boring non-alley-oop years of Clipper basketball.

by CLiPPz WeRD 12 on Jan 28, 2009 9:41 PM PST reply actions

He’s pure energy.

Unlike us on the boards. Bulls have had so many second chance looks.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:43 PM PST reply actions

51-32 on the boards in favour of the bulls.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:44 PM PST reply actions

bull got 14 offensive rebounds on us…

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:45 PM PST reply actions

I despise Dunlevay right now.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:46 PM PST reply actions

oh god.. Cleveland next? that game is going to be disgusting.

by CLiPPz WeRD 12 on Jan 28, 2009 9:47 PM PST reply actions

Lebron James will be the first player to ever get a hexa-double.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:48 PM PST reply actions

Ha ha ha! Well played Lawler! On seeing some little kids having fun in the stands, Lawler commetns: “They clearly can’t see the scoreboard from there”.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:49 PM PST reply actions

I feel for Camby – playoff basketball to this.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:50 PM PST reply actions

Oh cheers..thanks for extending our misery with that last ‘shot clock violation’call.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:51 PM PST reply actions

can’t wait to see what happens in Cleveland

by teejnut on Jan 28, 2009 9:52 PM PST reply actions

Positives from a big loss...

Small victories today: Fred Jones has continued to impress. He’s looked competent rather than incompetent which was my first thoughts on him.
Having Baron and Camby back, just seeing them out there is encouraging. It’s going to take time for them to get back to where they can be but for now, having them out there gives us hope.
DJ getting more aggressive with his throw downs. DJ off the alleyoop is an effective weapon and we should definitely look to it a little more in future games against weak centre teams.

by keify34 on Jan 28, 2009 9:53 PM PST reply actions

don't forget better lottery position

we are gonna be a pretty good team when randolph returns and we are going to win games so this losses will help for lotter postition at season end.

by XXDC2XX on Jan 28, 2009 9:55 PM PST up reply actions

As long as he is close enough to dunk it

remember the last game he missed 3 or 4 trying to dunk from too far out

Eric Gordon ROY!

by Andyman on Jan 28, 2009 9:56 PM PST up reply actions

we should run more pick and rolls with DJ. he obviously can’t do much else but dunk, so running this play will boost his confidence.

that was terrible but not worst....

Goes up there with one of the top ten worst losses of the season.

1.Dallas-Complete collapse
2.Bulls- EG losing the game for us on a foul.
*3.Bulls-We all seen this bullcrap
4.76ers Ex Clippers game winners
5.Raptors-The softest team in the league bodies us and beats us up.
6.GSW-Morrow
7.76ers-At home with no Brand
8.Bucks-Killed all momentum
9.Kings-Beno
10.Nuggets
Tim thomas last play

by KillaClip on Jan 28, 2009 10:43 PM PST reply actions

Nice List

I’d agree with all of them except the Philly loss wasn’t that bad at all. They’ve been playing better without Brand. I’d probably replace it with the Memphis loss.

by ghost_ride on Jan 29, 2009 1:36 AM PST up reply actions

the worst game since...

…Baron has been out? I rarely leave the game before the final buzzer sounded…but we left early tonight. It’s a disgrace. Where’s the heart?

by MichaelCage on Jan 28, 2009 10:55 PM PST reply actions

Baron Davis...

…I’m confused why there is all the hatred towards Baron.

Okay, so his contract, matched with the amount of games he’s played in and the reason behind not playing in them has got people questioning him.

But surely, when a guy actually wants to play for the Clippers (which NEVER happens) and gets injured early on, and when he does return he’s playing Mike Dunleavy ball – which I’m sure the same imaginary 90% of season ticket holders will confess, is terrible at best – surely we should all give him more than a handful of games.

Dude is talented, no doubt about it. When you get Baron, you’re geting specific type of player who flourishes in one particular system. the same as when you get Steve Nash, you’re fetting a run n gun player. To sign him and then not adapt the system to utilise him best would indicate either the coach is clueless or the signing should have never happened.

Personally, I think that when you invest that much money in somone, you’re pretty much staking your future in them which would also indicate that you’re willing to go with them for the duration, whih in turn would mean you’d try and get them playing their best ball. Which we all know is when it’s at a high tempo.

Even if you were to ignore all that and say ‘The best players can adapt to any system’, I’d have to point out that Baron has played in only a handful of games this year and to judge him based on not even half a season is crazy.

Wait until the team is at full stregth and has 15 games minimum playing together and we’ll judge.

The same applies to Dunleavy. He’s doing some things at the moment which make me despise hmi but at the same time, I appreciate he’s got his work cut out havin a half dead squad.

Or failing that, just continue as you are and hate on a player whos career has shown how could he can be, and ulimtately, consign your self to another 5 years of misery. Your choice.
