**Fred Jones and Paul Davis are Waived**

The Los Angeles Clippers today waived forward Paul Davis and guard Fred Jones it was announced by General Manager and Head Coach Mike Dunleavy. Drafted by the Clippers in the second round of the 2006 NBA Draft (34th overall) out of Michigan State, Davis appeared in 80 games for the Clippers from 2006-2008, making two starts and averaging 2.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in his career. This season, Davis played in 27 games, averaging 4.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game. Jones appeared in five games with the Clippers this season after signing with Los Angeles as a free agent on Dec. 28. Is something in the works here? What's going on?

Wow
the only thing i can think of is that were desprate for a point guard and we couldnt add any with the amount of players we had so this will give us space to bring in some guys but this is a shock i feel bad for fred jones for sure

Confusing
What the?? Now I understand Davis being waived, I mean for the long term future of the team, the minutes are probably better going to Jordan. You can see the difference in potential. David would be pissed about it though, considering his career high last wek against the Kings, and what he thought may have been a lucrative off-season for him.
But why waive Fred Jones? Is his injury “long long term”? He would be a good rotation player for us if and when we get healthy.
Hopefully Dunleavy has something in the works to justify this culling. I haven’t seen something this drastic since kangaroo culling was introduced in Australia!
