Clippers Make a Trade

Not as big as I had thought, but still movement.

The Los Angeles Clippers today acquired center Cheikh Samb and cash considerations from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for a future conditional second draft pick.

A 7-foot-1-inch center from Senegal, Samb has played in six games with the Nuggets this season, averaging 0.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.2 assists in 4.0 minutes. Samb came to Denver on Nov. 3 along with Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess in exchange for Allen Iverson. Samb was assigned to the Colorado 14ers of the NBA Development League on Dec. 10 and has averaged 12.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.8 blocks in 10 games with the 14ers.

Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 51st overall selection in the 2006 NBA Draft, Samb, was traded to Detroit and started his career with the Pistons, appearing in four games and averaging 1.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game in 2007-08 while also playing in 19 games for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League.

We're falling apart

Up to this point, i stayed somewhat optimistic, believe it or not. I now believe that we will finish in the bottom 3 in the NBA, let alone last.

Sorry, we are the BEST team in LA!

Movment

or move down this has to be the begining of something else cause we still have no healthy point guards

hmmmm

should we start talking draft picks?

It may just be.

This could be part of a bigger deal, at which point he will be moved. I don’t know… We cannot stay with this current team; unless Dunleavy wants to see how far he can push ClipperNation.

Sorry, we are the BEST team in LA!

I agree

this trade makes no since and i belive something else is happening. Why would we need two bigs to devolp now what does that tell D jordan and i thougth fred jones was great as a pick up with no trades involved so something else is happening clearing space and a lil sallery for something bigger just hope we dont land a maurberry or something like that

it's the last year

It’s his last year on contract worth 700 grand. Expiring contract, clearing cap space for future move?

Sorry, we are the BEST team in LA!

PG next

Ramona Shelburne of the Daily News is reporting we may sign Eddie Gill, Walker Russell, Damon Stoudemire or Troy Hudson. Which one of these players would you guys want?

Can I answer none of the above?

my god...

I don’t know what the heck the team is doing anymore. Is Dunleavy trying to sink the whole franchise before Sterling gets the nerve to fire him? If we’re giving away Camby to the Knicks for nothing, then sign a guy like Troy Hudson, then I’m done with this team…and I’ve been a Clippers fan for 20 years.

So What Else Is Going On?

I have a bad feeling either DJ or Camby could be leaving soon. Why else trade for Samb? I can’t believe another team really wants him, and he’s not an upgrade over anyone. Shouldn’t we have just signed a D-Leaguer and saved the 2nd round pick?

I’ll reserve judgement until the other shoe drops, but a sense of dread seems to be settling over this team.

That’s exactly how I feel. We shouldn’t have given up a pick! We could’ve signed a D-League player for less money with equal, if not more talent. Poor choice.

Sorry, we are the BEST team in LA!

The Return of the Russian Sensation

It’s obvious what the next move is… Yaroslav Korolev is coming back to wreck havoc and assert his dominance in this league!
