Who Is Cheikh Samb?? Let Camby Go??
Clippers acquire Samb from Nuggets
Has anyone seen this guy play? Any thoughts from Clipper fans? What's his style of play? Can he score, rebound and/or block shots?
Why did Dunleavy pick up another center? Is it just coincidence that he's coming from the Nuggets for nothing (conditional second round pick)?
Did Dunleavy ask Camby what he thought of Samb from when they were on the Nuggets together? Did Camby think Samb would be a good replacement for Paul Davis since he got hurt or maybe even a replacement for himself? Is Camby pushing for a trade to a contender like Boston who is missing PJ Brown from last year? Will this be another "let Sam Cassell go get a ring" thing?
Camby certainly deserves to play for a contender but would Dunleavy/DTS be that humanitarian and let Camby go for nothing in return?
[Will I be renewing my season tickets for next year?]
What do you think Clipper Nation? What is going on here?

it wouldn't
be humanitarian to let Camby go for nothing in return….it would be stupid, he is playing very welll, his contract is not over untill 2010 which is also the summer of Lebron meaning his value next year is gonna be high

Samb
Camby would not have any particular insights into Samb – he went to the Nuggets from the Pistons in the Iverson-Billups deal, after Camby had already left town.

i think
samb is just part of a major trade that is coming up. I don’t know this trade does not make sense.

Samb Is
DJ with less upside. Since all our guards keep getting hurt, maybe the new strategy is to play really big and try to block every shot.

theres definetly a big trade coming around the corner, but it better not contain camby (the best player on the clippers) leaving and us getting nothing in return. I dont think Samb is any good, and I"d much rather have DJ than him. I think he’ll be gone by next week

I wouldn't be suprised if Kaman is traded now that we have Samb
Even though MDSr LOVED Kaman, i think the 110% injury comment was directed at him. He’s been out a long time for a strained arch. ZBo is a PF MDSr needs, and the team loves Camby, so Kaman is the most likely target. Like the Brand-Kaman combo, I don’t think we will ever see the Camby-Kaman-ZBO combo
I love LAC.

I tend to agree with you. Why trade Kaman when Camby will most likely leave as soon as his contract is up?
I’d love us to resign Camby towards the start of next season (gives us time to assess his health).

Just Heard the 710 Interviews with and about Samb
Samb: Basically sounds like a foreigner who doesn’t understand much English. When asked what he would bring to the Clippers tonight he said “everything”. So pretty much you didn’t get much from the interview other than the fact that his English is limited. He didn’t sound excited or bored – just kind of there.
Ralph was asked about Samb and he actually had a little more insight. He said he talked to the Coach about Samb and that he is basically a “free look”. The Nuggets are paying him for the rest of the year, so Dunleavy said why not? They can play him as many games as they want and then just waive him. If he turns into something serviceable or better they can keep him.
Dunleavy’s interview revealed that he saw him during the Summer League and that he liked what he saw. He said he’s got a mid range jump shot and that he can block shots.
Samb will be only one of three guys on the bench tonight. Everyone else stayed home for the roadtrip.

So we need a point guard,
and we get Cheikh Samb? Do I smell a point-center? It’s all the rage.
