Thanks to Citizen Lawler's Law for posting this. It's interesting... in the sporadic discussions about 2010 free agency and Bill Simmons' fantasy of LeBron James as a Clipper, one thing I never pointed out is that these options have to be exercised before the season. So in theory you could have considered Al Thornton's $2.8M next season as part of your cap space (and Simmons did), but the reality is that you'd be crazy not to exercise this option based on the slim chance that you could actually sign a mega free agent. And if Thornton is a no-brainer, Gordon is even more obvious. Let's face it... the Clippers have made some nice draft picks lately.
