Around SBN: My First Fight: Diego Sanchez

Game Impressions, Etc.

In case anyone's around, here's a place to chat.  I've got to practice guitar, so I'll be in and out.  As dialogue may be scarce, feel free to just throw down any observations/impressions. After the 1st half, here are a few of my own.

1. DJ is for real.  Put him against 2nd string centers this year and watch him grow into a force.

2. Kareem is good.  He manages to get to the right place on the floor.  I like having him in there.

3. Telfair needs to resist the jump shot and drive instead.  His speed and passing are impressive.  His 3 pt attempts are not.

4. Griffin has had some tough calls tonight.  Thumbs up on his tenacity, though.

5. Kaman looks good, a steadying presence.  Mr Dependable?

6. Craig Smith, Mr Rhinoceros. Wanna bruise the other guy? Give him the ball and stand back.

7. Thornton can grab a rebound if and when he makes up his mind.

8. The Clips are best when Baron's around.

9. Check out a couple of DJ's 1st quarter slams.  It's fun when he and Griffin are playing together.

Thornton looking good second half

Been grabbing some nice offensive boards and making some shots when the Clips needed it most.

Blake, what a monster jam!

DJ is solid but has disappeared second half.

Very nice to have a PG who looks to create first and score second. Icing on the cake if he can nail those 3’s.

that was a funny play

let’s hope it’s a sign that the ball will bounce our way this season!

End of 3rd quarter report

1. Butler has a sweet shot. Where can I buy an arm band like his?

2. Baron also needs to resist the 3 pointer. Nothing we didn’t already know.

3. The Clips should be further ahead. It’s just 66-65. But it’s really just 2nd stringers tonight. Chris Paul has a fever.

4. DJ continues to impress. A couple of slams, and looking great to me.

5. Griffin is not yet Karl Malone. He’s not as smooth offensively. But what a disrupter! Loose balls, slams, and defensive presence. New nickname suggestion: The Disrupter.

6. Thornton really does look stronger.

7. 4th quarter now. BD made a three, then later poked away the ball on D and set up EJ for a jumper (the pass he had trouble finding). You might call BD, “Disrupter Prime.”

CSUF hoops fan here!

All 4 years I saw Little Bobby and I had a feeling he’d make it to the NBA even if he had to take the European route for a while.

I love Griffin’s work rate and Thornton’s athleticism. Baron looks rejuvenated. I’m excited about this season.

do it...last year (although horrible)

I could get 2 200 level tix for around 20-30 and 2 300 for around 5-13…

one of the perks for being a clip fan. :)

Make your FT's guys

Last person I’d expect to miss 2 FT’s on a trip (EG)

Many many FTs

Baron puts us up by 6 with 25 sec to go. Who would you rather have at the line at game’s end?

Go Clips!

I’ll take BD 2010 any time

Caught the 4th

They seem very confident out there. Rhino looked good. Thornton had a good game. BD looks completely different.

Cautiously optimistic.

ugly offense at times

but good D…if CP3 was in, we probably lost

by figgifig on Oct 23, 2009 10:16 PM PDT up reply actions

We looked better in the 1st

Seems like we’re still working out some kinks. But they don’t look like deficiencies. Big difference.
