You can hear our coach on the radio at times

Even the GSW commentators noted it. Dunleavy said: “Go, Go, Go!”

So far from hearing the radio, it sounds like the Clippers are playing a bit faster. GSW’s tempo might be contributing to that though too.

On Baron's playtime

From what I have heard Baron played all 12 minutes of this first quarter. Is that true?

Also after quarter 1: GSW 24 LAC 22

Yeah Al looks to be much more active on the glass

also has an assist and a 3. Would like to see more of both but preferably the assists.

Sounds like DJ is having a great game

Warriors don’t have an answer for him.

In Gordon we trust

Deandre Jordan and his condition

After last season ended, Deandre Jordan listed his workouts as having a lot of running and “getting more fit” type of conditioning as opposed to just basketball skills.

So far in this game, it sounds like Deandre is running the floor well and staying active. The commentators were saying he goes from defense to offense pretty fast. It sounds like he also has been quite active today. Deandre getting easy baskets and being there to rebound helps a ton.

Hopefully with more playing time he Deandre will continue to get better.

Deandre has 12 points so far in the 2nd quarter.

Edit

*Hopefully with more playing time (and another year of experience), Deandre will continue to get better.

Halftime Score: GSW:59 LAC:53

*It is a bit difficult to do any sort of analysis without a visual element. Due to that, a lot of what I have been saying has been from the commentators.

hey how about Ricky Davis? The dude is playing solid.

We have no blocks

with DJ and Kaman we should have at least 2 lol

Calling every foul

It sounds like they are calling every foul on the clippers. However, it sounds like they active on defense, but the wings are not doing the Job on the boards

by Qlippers on Oct 4, 2009 7:52 PM PDT via mobile reply actions

After the Third

Clippers 79 GSW 78

Ricky Davis makes a 3 point buzzer beater to get Clippers up by 1.

Although this is a preseason game, lets see if Dunleavy wants his team to go all out in the 4th or get more players involved.

If Dunleavy wants to win the game, I am interested in seeing if the Clippers can show the killer instinct in the 4th quarter. It has been a fun game of basketball to listen to.

I do want a win

But I don’t want the Guys to go out and get injured on a preseason game

by Qlippers on Oct 4, 2009 8:14 PM PDT via mobile up reply actions

Corey doin what he does best

Take the charge, al fouled out

by Qlippers on Oct 4, 2009 8:13 PM PDT via mobile reply actions

Yeah Al has a couple offensive fouls called tonight

Still like seeing the 7 boards and 2 assists.

I know it’s just an exhibition game but Jordon is playing great. All summer and tonight he shoots a very high percentage (mostly dunks but he get a lot of them!) and he grabs a ton of boards. Kaman replacement?

by dulciusEXasperis on Oct 4, 2009 8:16 PM PDT up reply actions

Replacement? Not yet

It’s a great luxury to have kaman, Jordan and camby at the center position

by Qlippers on Oct 4, 2009 8:20 PM PDT via mobile up reply actions

So young, so talented, so looking forward to this season :)

Eric Gordon is soooo good! He makes the game look so easy! I am so excited about this upcoming season. I am also looking forward to seeing Deandre Jordan get more playing time this year.

Final Thoughts

It sounds like Ricky Davis was playing hard.
Kaman was explosive when only making one move.
DJ was active and is way better than last year
We were active on D and pushed the ball.
Sounds like AL was more decisive w/ the ball on the offensive end.

The bad, we were incredibly sloppy.
Our wings need to do a better job on rebounding
Mardy is okay, but Bassy should be able to push the tempo for the 2nd unit.

Luckily, it’s the 1st game and we haven’t seen Blake, Bassy and Camby Play.

by Qlippers on Oct 4, 2009 8:42 PM PDT reply actions

Yah....

The first few pre-season games re always going to be sloppy. I thought we did a great job tonight. This is a different team from last season. The fast pace we played at and the easy looks that we had will be there all season long. I can’t wait to see this team with everyone healthy.

  Clippers Warriors
Turnovers: 26 15
Fast Break Pts: 15 16
Biggest Lead: 6 13
Unanswered Pts: 6 0
Points in the Paint: 38 34
FG%: 49.3% 43.7%
3FG%: 43.5% 40.0%
FT%: 73.9% 74.3%
Stats Via: Nba.com

This was the first preseason game, and it was also against a pretty uptempo team. The Clippers were missing a few of their members today. The team almost got to 50% on FG% and we did have a good amount of fast break points. Hopefully we see a decreasing trend in turnovers throughout the preseason.

Final Thoughts:
One game isn’t enough to make conclusive thoughts on a team, but there were many promising things going on. Some things we can look forward to throughout the preseason are the consistency of all the new players, the consistency of the 3 point shot, baron’s aggressiveness, and the team’s pace. The Clippers played fast against a fast pace team. It will be interesting for the Clippers to go up against a seemingly slow paced team, the Blazers, and see if there tempo stays high.

It was great to hear a basketball game this year after such a seemingly long basketball drought. Even though I still have a bit of a cautious optimism, I Can’t wait to watch more of the Clippers this year.

*Edit

*Baron’s aggressiveness
*fast paced team
*their tempo stays high.
*I can’t wait

Sorry about all those typos. Thank you again for the availability of a community for all Clippers fans to freely post their thoughts on the Clippers and interact with a great community. Thank you for all the inside Clipper information too. This has been a great resource for Clippers fans.

Ralph and Mike talked about the refs being to fast to call an offensive foul. Craig Smith had 3 fouls in under 2 minutes. Al Thornton fouled out. Ricky Buckets contributed well and Kaman only played 14 minutes? With 13 points.
