FElton news :)
ok, ok, I'm sure that we've all put the FElton saga to past, and I'm also pretty sure we all don't care anymore, so I apologize for posting this. But, maybe its just me but isn't it SWEEEET to hear FElton is not having fun in Philly?

I still think that him leaving is probably the best thing that's ever happened for the Clips. Sure, we endured probably one of the worst seasons after his departure, but we gained a Griffin, a star in the making in Gordon, etc. You think Dunleavy or the Clips would've made all those moves and transactions if FElton stayed?
Hey FElton, Karma sucks doesn't it?

I'm pretty much over the whole betrayal thing
We are better off in the long run, and if he were to play like he is now we’d have two bad long-term contracts on our hands. I still want to see him make his return to Staples so that the fans can give him the welcoming that he has earned, but other than that it is what it is. He’s Philly and their fans’ problem now.
Wow
It’s a pretty amazing fall. A big part of it is Speights playing well, just completely outplaying FElton. Maybe FElton can get more minutes by playing backup center—but getting 4 minutes in the 3rd quarter and then sitting the rest of the way is pretty brutal.
At what point do they start Speights and bring FElton off the bench? But Speights is presumably a valuable 6th man at this point, kind of like a Milsap.
Like seeing Holiday get some minutes and contribute.
PAYBACK
KARMA IS A BIOTCH YOU KNEW IT WAS COMING ELTON !!!!
I remember last year...
Brand was getting outworked by Thaddeus Young, and now Mareese Speights? FElton should be a patron saint in the Clipper Pantheon. Dude pretty much assured our future dominance. G-Force, bay-bee!

I can't believe how far he's fallen
Now Philly has one of the worst contracts in basketball. At least Z-Bo puts up some numbers

They have EB, we have BD
BD has arguably fallen significantly as well, albeit not as bad as EB.
Baron
has bounced back some this year which is encouraging, FElton has continued his slide. Worst yet he fits in poorly with the rest of the team.

Well
At least he won’t have to travel far for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

My best friend growing up in Dallas was named Imran
Oh, and I do secretly wish EB success, too.
Do not worry. (Matthew 6:27)

Meanwhile in South Philly...
Guess who’s currently dead last in home attendance?
Backstabber Brand’s 76ers are averaging 11,537 per game at Wachovia Center. Their arena seats 21,600 for basketball…that’s just over 10,000 empty seats per game.

Keep up the great work playing to half-full house every night, Elton!
I still wonder what it would have been like had Elton stayed. There’s no denying that at the time, a Baron/Elton duo sounded fantastic. I get the feeling that Elton leaving took the wind out of Baron’s sails. Would he have been more motivated and in shape if Elton remained in LA? In turn, how would Elton’s play have changed with Baron as his teammate? I’m not saying that I miss Elton Brand or anything, just something interesting to think about. Its strange to see how on one hand, the Baron signing was disastrous—the Clippers got worse, the Warriors got worse, the Sixers got worse (well financially at least, as they did make the playoffs), both Baron and Elton got worse! But on the other hand, despite another terrible start, at least on paper the Clippers’ future looks brighter than Brand’s. Must be tough to go from MVP candidate to MIA liability, eh Elton?
But I will say that despite everything that happened last year, he gets some points in my book for one thing. During the year of the Clippers’ last playoff run, out of the many games I went to, one of them I took my Laker fanboy friend, who is pretty much a “Kobe is the greatest player ever” poster boy. Towards the end of that game, he was earnestly and enthusiastically chanting “MVP” for then Clipper…Elton Brand. That was even sweeter than watching Jack Nicholson eat some humble pie and sit courtside to watch a Clippers playoff game. Man oh man, do I miss those days…
