I thought our site was slow.

Perhaps LA actually goes to their games, unlike Sacramento.

Ha ha...

Listen here, Thunder Down Under…

Isn’t your team a JV team? Or did the Booster club finally scrape together the funds to feed you so you could play seniors? ;)

You not talking about team names?

Especially with a name like the clippers?

Here is to a good game!

Nah, have a good game. ;)

Actually back in the days,

Clippers are very famous ships that travels the sea. Let’s just say clipper ships have more heart and courage, esp under “thunder”-ous times.

We are landlocked and know nothing of seafaring.

I joke of course, but I still prefer the name Thunder.

Did anybody else look over into Thunders SBNations blog?

They overvalue some of their players, just like us. LOL

Chris Kaman vs Nenad Krstic? I would have said that Kaman would outplay Nenad by a long run, but they seem to think Krstic can somewhat even it out with his midrange jump shot. Then one of the guys think Marcus Camby vs Jeff Green is a huge mismatch; in favor of Green. I would have thought it was the other way; where Green gets bothered all night by Camby’s ridiculous defense.

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 8:38 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

kristic was not too bad when he was on th enets. but i think he blew out his acl and hasnt been quite the same since.

looked the same way last game as well. Not even playing very good defense. Smith just is playing with way more energy. If only he was a bit taller or longer (for defensive purposes)

Nice Half by Thornton

He had that one bad turnover (Harden steal & layup), but luckily we were able to recover.

He’s not forcing shots, is finishing well and providing good energy. Looks like we’ll need him to win tonight. Hopefully BD can keep up his good play and we get Kaman 2.0 or better.

We’ve had too many versions of Kaman to just say Kaman is looking like Kaman….

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 8:50 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

It means

he is looking like the sloppy Kaman from the past. Missing easy layups, turning it over.

In his defense, they rely on him way too much, but in the end he looked terrible tonight.

there goes my pipe dream of .500 ball

at least we were somewhat close to it unlike the past couple seasons

by whyamiaclippersfan on Nov 11, 2009 10:02 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Well...

we were .500 at the beginning of the year at 0-0…We were also a .500 team last year at 0-0, and the year before that too. So as long as we don’t play a game we’re fine. This season is over by the way. No way this team can win a game until EJ gets back.

0-6 here we come. We will be 3-12 by the time Eric can come back…though with Jasen Powell as our trainer, I don’t expect Eric back until Mid February.

Dwight’s a beast. Probably top 10, if not top 5, guy in the league.

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:05 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah...

1. Kobe
2. LeBron
3. Wade
4. Paul
5. Howard

by ghost_ride on Nov 11, 2009 10:11 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Kobe #1?

Nah, I wouldnt put that. I’ve ranked Lebron at #1 because he’s really transformed the Cavs to contenders. Bryant has a solid core around him. And even if he didn’t have a solid core, he’d have Phil. When there isn’t Phil Jackson, then theres a problem.

My list probably would look a bit more like LBJ, Kobe, Wade, Paul and Howard.

Btw, man, I really wish one day Kevin Martin can do a little better. The man’s a beast, but continuously gets overlooked.

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:15 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Kobe kills it in the clutch

Until LeBron can close out games better, his physical attributes wont be as effective. This is coming from a Kobe hater. But how many times can the guy kill you at the end of a game before you throw your hands up and admit how good he is.

by ghost_ride on Nov 12, 2009 9:25 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

been a problem

been saying Al’s poor play has been clouding the terrible shooting performance of Butler. Now that Al played a better game, Butler gets this huge spotlight shown on him. 8 three point attempts and only 2 FG attempts.

and i was thinking about going to this game. good thing…

by Fan of the Game on Nov 11, 2009 10:06 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

This team is pathetic

Last night Sacramento put up a 100 on the Thunder. Guys like Beno Udrith and were tearing them up and we can barely crack 80.

It’s just pathetic. They give the ball Kaman more than Shaq ever got.

I guess I don’t blame MDSR, you can’t run any plays for Camby all he can do is spot shoot, Butler is terrible if you give him the ball he just dribbles for 10 seconds then jacks up a contested jump shot, Thornton has been a mess all year, and BD shoots 30% from the field.

No wonder we can’t score any points. I’m just disgusted this was one of the worst games I’ve ever seen.

by The Blake Griffin Era on Nov 11, 2009 10:07 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

I have to agree w/ you

Camby is not an offensive threat and you can easily crowd the inside.
Butler can’t dribble to the whole, more of a spot up shooter.
BD is not a consistant shooter to be a threat out there.

Damn, are these guys really this stupid on the court? And you add a coach who nobody has faith in, it’s going to be a disaster.

Next up, Toronto. I predict a blow out. How many more games before coach steps down or gets fired

by Qlippers on Nov 11, 2009 10:14 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

i'm become numb to losses over the years....

but this team has the nucleus of something special if in the hands of the right man…
alvin gentry is 8-1 has a coach of a team that is full of jump shooting role players…….

by whyamiaclippersfan on Nov 11, 2009 10:09 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Aside from EJ, Blake, and Kaman

I don’t see the talent on this team.

If you want to compare to PHX, Nash is significantly better than BD. Baron can’t take over a game, tonight was a perfect example. He shoots 30% every night.

by The Blake Griffin Era on Nov 11, 2009 10:13 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

He was ok

but he shot 6/18, he is supposed to be the best player on the team.

When was the last time he dropped 30? When was the last time he put the team on his back and won the game. He has become just another guy.

by The Blake Griffin Era on Nov 11, 2009 10:16 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Really

PHX is a way better team than us. That’s over simplifying. Their shooters like Grant and J. Rich can at least be a threat to dribble into the lane

I've noticed your comments are not very optimisitc

and while I dont blame you, its just pretty sad to sound so… emo. “why am i a clippers fan…” “how is it possible to be a fan of a team that has probably loss over a thousand games since i started rooting for them…”

Are you questioning why your a Clippers fan?

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:21 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

yes, if you have an answer....

i mean the clippers have not really given any reason at all the past few years that they will turn this ship around anytime soon…yet here i am, have tickets to some games, watch pretty much all the others on tv……i want to see what griffin/gordon do together but its gotten past the point of frustration

by whyamiaclippersfan on Nov 11, 2009 10:24 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Do you need a reason to be a fan of a certain team?

If winning is a reason, you can move to Lakers. I know it sounds a bit harsh, but questioning your loyalty to a team is like still trying to figure out your what team you should root for.

I dont think im usually this bitter, but somehow this loss to OKC is a huge stinger…

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:30 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

ugly basketball is ugly basketball

No matter how much of a fan you are, if you like the game of basketball, performance like tonight makes your eyes bleed. 10 points in the fourth quarter. Stupid shots by Butler and Al who lost all his confidence. This team is finished.

by MichaelCage on Nov 11, 2009 10:24 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Im not questioning how ugly the game was

heck I was on my feet when Al Thornton got fouled at the 3 point line and made all three to tie it up. What gave me the urge to comment was questioning your own loyalty towards a team.

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:27 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

i'll always be a clippers fan...

by whyamiaclippersfan on Nov 11, 2009 10:30 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I think good fans have to be critical...

if not then you better get a paycheck from the team’s marketing department. But you know ,the good broadcasters call it as they see it. I remember when Chick Hearns would rip the Lakers when he felt they weren’t playing hard enough.

This game reveals a serious flaw with this Clippers team. Without EJ, we’re not going to win any of the next 6-8 games, especially with Butler and Al playing like knuckleheads. By the time EJ and Blake gets back, we’ll be 15 games below .500

by MichaelCage on Nov 11, 2009 10:33 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Being critical is one thing

but it doesnt make sense to question your own loyalty.

Raptors are going to kill us

Camby isn’t a strong man defender and takes his man out when they attack the basket. Bargs doesn’t attack ofter Camby isn’t going to get blocks on the perimeter and the same goes for Bosh.

by KillaClip on Nov 11, 2009 10:21 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

add the fact

that Camby does not look interested in defending the perimeter. Plus he’s an offensive liability

I was hoping for

Rick Carlisle about 2 years ago and Paul Westphal this summer

I want to give Larry Drew a try

I heard he’s an up and coming coach that relates to the players.

by Qlippers on Nov 11, 2009 10:48 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Speaking of coaches

I wonder how Coach K of Duke would do in the NBA, or even Coach Ben Howland of UCLA. Ben Howland seems to love defense and K loves offense. Now, Im just waiting to see how Isiah Thomas will coach NCAA and if it will make a significant differnece.

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:50 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I think

Ben and Coach K will do poorly in the NBA because NBA players have egos. They can punish them like college kids by taking away their scholarships or enforce curfews.

by Qlippers on Nov 11, 2009 10:53 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Heh;

so is what your saying that a player that is favored more on a team will be more successful in the NBA? I mean Howland and Coach K are pretty team oriented coaches who moves the ball alot.

I always thought Ben Howland COULD potentially be successful, but Coach K might not.

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:57 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I'm saying

Players have huge egos, it’s hard to discipline a player who’s making millions. For example, I can’t see Coach K telling Kobe, I’m sitting you if take one more shot like that.

That threat will work in the college game

Dream on....

Dunleavy ain’t gonna fire himself. And if you’re waiting for Sterling to fire Dunleavy…that’s not going to happen. If it were going to happen, it would have happened over the summer.

Dunleavy will be the coach and GM of this team until his contract runs out. We can cry all we want. It’s not going to change a thing.

Right?

I mean D’Antoni went to New York after all… and I’d take D’Antoni over Don Nelson anyday.

Damn man

Who in the hell is going to guard Turk?

by KillaClip on Nov 11, 2009 10:28 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Butler and Thornton of course...

I wish I have Turk on my fantasy team so he can get the NBA record for 3 pointers against us on Friday.

by MichaelCage on Nov 11, 2009 10:34 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I have Turk, Paul, Johnson, and Melo.

I thought Biedrins would be a better pickup than Kaman. Boy was I wrong.

we need new uniforms...yes...that's what we need....

redo the uniforms….that’ll lift the curse….it’s because the clippers have had pretty much the same uniforms since coming to los angeles…redo it with some flashy CLIPS logo instead of clippers….

No!

I love these jersey’s. They’re old fashion- yet modern. I find Memphis jerseys pretty ridiculous. It’s just too flashy..

We dont need OKC or Memphis jersey’s. However, I wouldnt mind going retro with the San Diego jersey’s (blue and white) every now and then. Maybe second Sunday of every month.

Man Baron

Through all this losing game, I don’t think most of us realize that Baron was relatively close to a TD 7Reb 9 ast 17 points

I think BD played well

I’m just putting this on Dunleavy

by Qlippers on Nov 11, 2009 10:38 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I actually think

that its Kaman’s. While Kaman kepted us in the game, he made some costly turnovers, and towards the end of the game, was in the wrong position to box out somebody.

by JackduhSun on Nov 11, 2009 10:39 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah

I was wonder why he turned in the wrong direction on that last play, I understand if the double was coming aggressively. What a bone head play

by Qlippers on Nov 11, 2009 10:41 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

hes a bonehead

what do you expect? Honestly, I think hes a great player, I just dont trust him as the go to guy.

Mr.Flippy

I remember at least 4 missed bunnies right around the hoop.

10 points in the 4th quarter!?

there's like

five people who calls Clippersline. If you call, you are assured of getting on radio…unless you start slurring words, scream profanity uncontrollably, or your caller ID said you’re calling from San Quentin.

That makes sense

it’s always the same I hear. I would call in but I prefer Lee Kline. He gave it straight

Clips Nation Word of the Day

Forfend – to fend off, avert, or prevent.

“The team could not forfend the fourth quarter collapse tonight.”

The kids aren't alright.

FIRE MDSR ANYWAY

I was at the the game and actually praised Coach at half time for playing a slow half court game against the faster team and allowing the new , dare I say it smarter BD to work against the less skilled Thunder defense (it would have worked great if Kaman had a better game).
However, MDSR true game skills came out at the end the 3/4 and start of the 4th.
If there is only five seconds left in the 1/4 and you have the ball on a time out, why not put in Steve Novack? His defense can’t hurt you? If not, why have him on the team?
Mardy Collins makes a rare appearence, I assume to guard Durant , who’s killing everyone else, which seems a reasonable move. But Durant is immediately taken out of the game and Mardy is left in for five more minutes with all non-scoring unit, which blows the lead and the game. The goal is to increase your lead when their best player is out, not the other way around.
Bad teams, and the Clippers are a bad team find different ways to lose, and without a coaching change, I just see karma remaining bad.

Wow oh Wow!!!!

9 games in and my Girl is as frustrated watching the Clips as I am. Shes from Boston and has grown to love the Clips because I do. Like I did, she watched the Preseason and was often impressed by this years squad.( I know there have been injuring but every team has injures.) Now, well… tonight she used the phrase “Bad News Bears” and shes completely right. Just when things are looking good, they quickly go down the toilet…Kaman gets 25+ shots tonight? Rasual lost his mind..What kind of shot selection was that? I know he hit 140+ 3’s last year but COME ON!!!!!!Can he successlly drive to the basket? 9 games in and its yet to be seen!!!! I love the Clips but damn they hurt me all the time…. Cheers to HOPE….When will the real Clippers stand up…

Stick a fork in the season, Clippers fans.

We have the same underachieving, poorly coached team we’ve always had. I feel so bad for Ralph Lawler, how that man hasn’t jumped off a cliff yet is a feat in itself. Having to associate with these losers year after year must be tiresome.

10 points in the fourth quarter. What an absolute embarrassment.

I've got nothing.

by bc56274 on Nov 11, 2009 11:07 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah its amazing...

that Ralph Lawler is even able to dress himself and call these games. Its the same story year after year. The guy should get some lifetime award for all his patience.

…seemed like he didn’t even want to do any post game chat.

Dear Coach/GM Mike Dunleavy

This your Conscience. You know its about time we chatted. What’s going on man?? How can you look yourself in the mirror each day and believe your the right guy to do Dual duty for this team?? I know your not but you keep chugging along oblivious to WORLDS view of how your doing…Please swallow your pride and step down already!!!!!! I compel you to find a players coach that knows how to manage talent but more importantly how to manage a game. Tonight’s substitutions were bizarre and WRONG!!!! Well, I know you won’t every step down and DTS is to stingy to fire you with all the money your owed but think about it.
