Anyone feel he’s not being used properly, and is just brought up to give Baron a rest? Past couple games, I see him walking the ball up instead of pushing back in the twolves days. I don’t seem to see much PnR either.

During a quick interview at halftime in a previous game, he said they cannot push the ball because they’ve been inbounding the ball allowing the opposition to get back on D, but even when they do get the rebounds, I don’t see the urge to push the ball up. All I see is walking the ball up for 8 seconds or so, look for a pass out to the wing and by then there’s about 14 seconds left on the shot clock.

You can't run if they make shots

Hornets made many shots…you can’t just randomly dribble and shoot if the Defense is set. That is reckless, Warriors bball. Run a set play…EGordon is out.

This is going to be my team, and we're going to rise together.

Is there any chance Dunleavy gets canned if we lose tonight?

It seems like at the end of our road trip would be the appropriate time.

Especially if we lost two out of three to these jokester of teams.

I've got nothing.

2 part question

Will Gordon be back before Dunleavy gets replaced?
Will Blake be coached by Dunleavy in a regular season?

Exactly.

This team is play with no heart, no passion, no intensity, just a complete lackluster performance.
If this doesn’t get him fired, with a day off tomorrow before returning home, he is never going to lose his job.

I've got nothing.

So is baron the only person that decided to play tonight??? Just checked the scores and stats, WOW

by Sam50 on Nov 18, 2009 7:16 PM PST via mobile reply actions

What a crappy team!

'Cause how you play, is how you'll be remembered. PLAY LOUD!

by CLiPPz WeRD 12 on Nov 18, 2009 7:22 PM PST reply actions

EJ and BG are great players...

But this team isnt gonna win even with them. As prideful as Dunleavy is…I think even he will step down at this point. Did anyone else notice Dunleavy and Baron getting into a little by the way?

by screweb on Nov 18, 2009 7:24 PM PST reply actions

Last year Dunleavy rode the injury bug

Hes got one player out for 10 days and a hurt rookie who still has to go through a learning curve this year. There’s no reason for the team to be THIS bad

by screweb on Nov 18, 2009 7:28 PM PST up reply actions

This stands pat to what I told Steve

The Clippers don’t play D late in games at best the play early and fade off. OKC missed shots that weren’t fully contested, plus Durant did not get the ball to close that is why we won.

by KillaClip on Nov 18, 2009 7:24 PM PST reply actions

Bottle of jack, a 22 and a single bullet

I think that would summarize the game up.

I'm pretty sure

its because we are all a bunch of masochists. In a city with so many entertainment options we continue to pick the one that is the least fruitful. I should take my season ticket money and just go to a strip club and make it rain.

by ClipperChuck on Nov 18, 2009 7:34 PM PST up reply actions

The thing is this was it the Clipper offense and Defense

This will be the offense with Blake andGordon it’s a matter of who lucks out better. this team will not improve until the offense and defense is upgraded.

by KillaClip on Nov 18, 2009 7:26 PM PST reply actions

Rudy gay was a monster

The game was over when Dunleavy subbed DJ for Novak he gave of rebounding our big weakness for scoring and that failed.

by KillaClip on Nov 18, 2009 7:27 PM PST reply actions

The radio announcers were repeatedly stating towards the end of the game that something's got to change

They were very vocal about it. The clear implication is that MDSr has got to go. (I could have told them that 2 years ago but I digress.)

by Jax on Nov 18, 2009 7:27 PM PST reply actions

Come on Jax...

You and I both know that coaches have as much influence on a game as luck. We should give MDsr a 50 year extension since it’s virtually impossible to find anyone more capable… this is all the player’s fault(s)

I can’t seem to fathom a situation that would warrant the removal of any coach… ever.

Oh me, oh my!!!! The Red Baron has come home!!

by Clipper T on Nov 18, 2009 7:43 PM PST up reply actions

What makes the loss hard is everything went as planned and we still got blown out

Baron and Kaman did what they were suppose to we rebounded and still loss.lol You knew it was over when Rudy didn’t score in the first half he would be rested and able to go after that he could of went for 30.

I’m going to retract that, and make it 25.

we might not be able to match 19 of last year.

The Nets are 0-12, and Lawrence Frank still has a job. Dunleavy isn’t going anywhere.

by edk3 on Nov 18, 2009 9:26 PM PST up reply actions

A little different scenario

the Nets knew going into this year that it would be a rebuilding year, they dumped their best player VC for some young prospects. To top it off Devin Harris got injured and has missed most of those games.

The Nets knew they were going to be a 20 win team this year while the Clippers were expected to challenge for a playoff spot. Yes we’ve had injuries but that doesn’t mean we should be losing (badly) to bad teams.

you guys want some cheese with that whine?

come on where is the optimism? holy crap its like a bad divorce…. we all know the team has never been very good. Did you all expect something different to happen? The talent on the floor doesnt exist. Kaman and Baron were the only ones who could score. opposing teams are dialing in on us and there is nothing we can do until are sharp shooter and Rook get back.

by big0lbad on Nov 18, 2009 8:41 PM PST reply actions

obviously fans were very hopeful this year with getting first round blake, a solid team with the rest of other additions. I mean, we have GREAT players i mean, great. TO each their own, but we are not playing as a team and using each of their abilities to their potential. Not right at all, and we should not be where were at . WE lost games that we were suppose to have! Just bad! Fans are whining because this season was/is suppose to be our best since our below .500 days!! or still

by Goosebumpz on Nov 18, 2009 8:48 PM PST up reply actions

really? were we not optimistic enough to expect our players to be able to stand up to a 2-8 memphis team? talent? baron and kaman? werent we raving about how we had a bench that had a possible starting PG?(telfair) come on at least make it close… no it was like 20 points we LOST by the 7 min mark at the 3rd quarter…

by Final692 on Nov 18, 2009 8:54 PM PST up reply actions

It's nice to see that they've been winning the 4th quarter lately

but someone needs to tell our guys that winning the 4th doesn’t mean a thing if you lose the previous 3 quarters. Its like they’ve concentrated so much on closing games that they forgot that they have to open games too.

by edk3 on Nov 18, 2009 9:34 PM PST reply actions

Dunleavy's going to fire his assistants

That way Dunleavy will be the GM, Coach, and Assistant Coaches….it’s the surefire way Sterling can’t let him go….
I appreciate what Dunleavy has brought to the Clippers, he got DTS to open his payroll and has been able to get good players (when they were on other teams) on the roster. So far the Clippers have been somewhat competitive and just plain destroyed in their games played. YET, Dunleavy continues to run the same plays every game which clearly are not working. The 2010-11 season that Dunleavy’s contract runs until will destroy Clipper Nation and there will be the 5-6,000 fans at Staples like back in the Sports Arena days.
