Sorry didn’t post this earlier. Clippers’ starting lineup: BDavis, RDavis, Thornton, Camby, Chris Kaman. Ricky’s first start this season. 2 minutes ago from web

This is amazing.

The only decent part of the entire organization – Ralph Lawler, and they act like he doesn’t even exist.

I've got nothing.

you could hear barron say “the spacing is all f**** up”

“maybe this team should play more uptempo”

maybe be should be the coach

wait why dont we hire mark jackson? he interview for the wolves job… but if anything he’s a former pg, and a former clipper.

Right

I mean, generally speaking, Telfair is an awful shooter.

But keep him in there while he’s hot.

by Michael White on Nov 20, 2009 8:28 PM PST up reply actions

Ugh.

This is making Dunleavy look like a good coach. ;)

(I’m a Nuggets fan btw)

If I didn’t read the parenthesis, I was going to freak out on you :)

by Michael White on Nov 20, 2009 8:43 PM PST up reply actions

I meant what I said though. If someone who had no idea who Dunleavy was and what he’s done, this looks like a solid coaching job. From an unbiased point of view at least.

lets end this quarter well…for once.! go clips! we look like we can match anybody

by Agaliarept on Nov 20, 2009 8:49 PM PST up reply actions

Horrible

Just awful. They weren’t calling the game, just kind of talking like it was a radio program. Carmelo would make a shot, and they would talk about Carmelo for a minute. I switched to ESPN (better HD) and put music on.

by Michael White on Nov 20, 2009 9:02 PM PST up reply actions

Yeah I firgured

They could barely manage the postgame show when I was in LA. Calling the game is probably out of their repertoire

by peterghost on Nov 20, 2009 9:31 PM PST reply actions

how are the clips winning this? Don’t see anyone with monster numbers… anyone got some insight?

by thehalobender on Nov 20, 2009 9:32 PM PST reply actions

Butler huge off the bench

Clips went on a 17-0 run to end the first and start the second. Just completely dominated the play in the 2nd.

"If the Clippers have any chance of winning this game"

Ya, I’m not sure, but I think at this point pretty much everybody would say the Clippers have a good chance at winning.

by Michael White on Nov 20, 2009 9:34 PM PST reply actions

It's a stupid thing to say

If they have any chance? Please.

And no they aren’t aware. I doubt they even considered the Clippers before tonight.

by Michael White on Nov 20, 2009 9:37 PM PST up reply actions

It's not stupid if it's true

Clippers needed that lead just to pull out the victory tonight.

What kind of line is “And no they aren’t aware.”?

I guess the players don't hate Dunleavy

There was a little something extra tonight we haven’t seen from this squad all year.

by ghost_ride on Nov 20, 2009 10:31 PM PST reply actions

Definitely

The players had a layup tonight to put Dunleavy on the chopping block, but they fought hard to get back in it early, and the 2nd unit was possessed. Pretty circumstantial to me. Plus BD & Camby came out before the game and said the recent play wasn’t the coaches fault.

On the other hand, the Dunleavy pressure looks like it’s done some good, getting the players to own up a little bit.

by ghost_ride on Nov 20, 2009 10:39 PM PST up reply actions

I dont think any of them hate Dunleavy

I think the fans are the ones that hate him, lol. He did a good job tonight. I am glad that our next game is vs. the Wolves. We should get a W and maybe even an Eric Gordon sighting.

Nice win J_R

You’ve been battling a lot of strong perceptions, this has to feel good. Let’s hope it can continue, then we’ll all be happy.

by ghost_ride on Nov 20, 2009 10:36 PM PST up reply actions

Team did well, the effort was there & they were able to close out.

That’s actually the coaching issue. Yes, the injuries make it hard to win, but are they putting for the effort and running the right plays. Work the ball into Kaman, practice enough options for when the double team comes, etc. Kaman did great, except for that last turnover…can’t be perfect.

If this the result of MDSr being on the hot seat, it’s well worth it. Mike, we should see this EVERY GAME, not once in two seasons. Stop playing “not to lose” in 4th…keep playing ball. It got scary when they tried to run time off the clock & ended up jacking up 3s…or is that airballs.

Finally feels good…it’s been a long time.

My post from last week...relatively consistent, don't you think?

It’s not a matter of holding the coach responsible for the team losing

You WANT to replace the coach when you have an expectation that the person replacing him will produce better results.

It wasn’t just Ralph, it was Ralph & Mike. They were obviously board in the 4th quarter of an ugly game for the Clips. They read the script, which was about 40 seconds of air time. Started w/ a mispronounciation, then the Borat thing, followed by some silly sterostyping, “well I guess all Iranians…. blah blah” insert some disparaging remark.

Wow, look what happens when you play defense and don't settle for jumpshots!

Hey, didn’t some other LA team get blown out by these Nuggets that the Clippers just beat? I think so. This was a GREAT win for the team. They dominated for the most of the game, played great defense, penetrated instead of chucking a bad jump shot, and didn’t give up when their seemingly usual 4th quarter collapse came around. Plus they did it without Eric Gordon, without Blake Griffin, and without a big scoring night from Chris Kaman. I hope the players get some confidence with this game, honestly correct their mistakes, and finally realize what they’re capable of. If they played like this every night we’d be demanding a Dunleavy extension. Well, maybe not that far, but at least the “fire Dunleavy” vitriol wouldn’t be as huge. Great win Clippers, and do this on a regular basis!
