Still Dissing The Fans
And pointing to “positive film sessions” as The Way Back. Wonderful.
Yeah...
He didn’t do so great walking back his ‘fans aren’t savvy’ comment.

It's always a low-blow to insult the fans.
Despite the mangled way in which Dunleavy was trying to say fan’s don’t always understand the big picture, I have to cut MDSr. some slack here. He’s of course right that as fans we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes. Teams, like any other business, have their own plans, etc. that the public isn’t privy to.
Not that big a deal, but you think he could’ve come up with something a lot less insulting and a lot more intelligible.

agreed...
I was there for the first ‘savvy’ comment – it was in answer to my question actually. As he was saying it I thought, “Oh boy, I bet he’d like a do over on that – doesn’t sound good.” But it happens – you say something, it comes out worse than you meant for it to. What’s strange is that he didn’t do a better job of backtracking.

Maybe you should've coughed a few times, Steve.
Haha. But that isn’t objective journalism.

That's a back track?
Feels more like a rub in.

I may be wrong...
but RE: our Minnesota draft pick Dunleavy says: “We have Minnesota’s pick that we’re going to get sometime in the next three years – unprotected in year three”
However, according to NBAdraft.net, its unprotected after the 2010 season (making it unprotected after next year, thus year 2).
http://www.nbadraft.net/2010draftnotes.html
Does he not know what the actual specifics of the pick are or is nbadraft.net wrong? If its him, this is another example of Dunleavy not knowing whats going on with this team.
"I want someone who will, you know, let me put it in or who [will] suck on it." – Donald Sterling
I’m pretty sure draftnet is wrong on that one.

"Clippers Executive"
This kind of stuff strikes me as really strange for a team like the Clips. It’s well known that Dun is coach and GM. There are only two people ahead of him – Roeser and Sterling. And it’s debatable whether Roeser even has the ability to fire Dunleavy.
So either these quotes are Roeser talking, or it’s some random nobody that has no authority whatsoever.
If you look at stories in seasons’ past, more often than not, Dunleavy always dealt directly with Sterling, undercutting Roeser and even Elgin when he was still here. So who knows what actual power Roeser has, other than making sure that the Clips continue to make a profit and keeping the Donald happy.
What don't we understand?
If fans are missing something, explain it. What besides injuries isn’t his fault? Don’t all time have injuries? Isn’t it his job to have capable reserves? If fans don’t understand his great play selection(down low to Kaman even when they double and triple team), explain why this the best offense for this personnel?
Just don’t imply that we’re stupid.
Contrast MDSr's approach (it's never my fault) with Charlie Weis (I'm the coach, it's my fault)
Oh yeah – and his “clarification” was just more of the same nonsense. The fans don’t understand why we’re losing all the time because we are privy to all this secret stuff that they just wouldn’t be able to process. “If they knew what we knew they’d see that I’m not to blame.”
Whatever.

that front-ass of a coach
finally admits that it’s his fault because he has no other excuse, including his poor excuse of still having Willingham’s recruiting class!
