Being the Clipper fan that I am and watching nearly every minute of every game so far, I was reflecting on the first 17 games to see what might have been an excellent start to the season. Their record is what it is, but it's still fun to speculate where this team, even without Blake Griffin and a stretch without Eric Gordon "coulda" been.
The first four games were tough, but at the very least the game against the Suns "shoulda" been won. Combine that with the next 3 wins and their record is 4-3. The Hornets game was a blowout, but the next two against Toronto and OKC were very winnable, but became losses. "Shoulda" been 6-4. The road trip started well with a win against OKC, but was followed by a another "coulda" won game against the Hornets. Ended the road trip with another blowout to Memphis. "Shoulda" been 8-5. I great win against Denver, followed by a win versus Minny, was followed by the stinker at Indy and the win last night at Detroit. Realistically could be 12-5 right now.
Alas they are 7-10, but there is always hope in Clipper Nation, and December is right around the corner, which means the debut of Blake Griffin is getting closer. The schedule gets more difficult, but with any luck they are at .500 by the new year.
