Iverson had a meeting with Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley Friday night after the team lost 114-98 to the Los Angeles Lakers, the newspaper reported.

Iverson met with Heisley again Saturday morning and then left for Atlanta, the Commercial Appeal reported. Iverson lives in Atlanta during the offseason.

Iverson has played in three games for the Grizzlies since returning from a hamstring injury. He has come off the bench in all three games and made it known he is unhappy about it.

Iverson has averaged 12.3 points, 3.7 assists, 2.3 turnovers and 57-percent shooting in 22 minutes for the Grizzlies.

Given the timing

I think we should all be very skeptical of what “personal reasons” means. Sounds like they let him know they expect him to be a 6th man and he didn’t take it well. This could well be the end of the road for AI.

Neither

we should be able to beat this team with or without AI but I would think this has their locker room distracted so it should make it easier for us.

Pre game...

Lionel Hollins was pretty tight lipped on this. He said it was a personal matter, and pretty much didn’t answer any other questions about it. But yeah, a guy plays 3 games off the bench, complains about not starting, and then has to attend to personal matters. It makes one suspicious.
