The Starters

“Clipper starters vs Minny: BDavis, EGordon, Al Thornton, Marcus Camby, Chris Kaman
T-Wolves: Brewer, Flynn, Al Jefferson, KLove, DWilkins”"
-Via Lisa Dillman Twitter

It is good to see Al Thornton starting to maybe produce the same magic he did last time against the Wolves. Does Thornton have a legitimate match up advantage against DWilkins?

Key Phrase of the Game: “Box Out”: Kevin Love may by a really super rebounder, but the Clippers need to make sure that rebounding attitude doesn’t get contagious with the Wolves. Clippers need to bring the effort to win the rebounding effort.

Where do the Wolves get most of their points: From the paint? From the perimeter?

I still have some distinct memories of what power forwards like Al Jefferson have done to the Clippers. How do the Clippers stop him? Should they stop him? Points for Jefferson but no one else?

Let’s hope to see the best of skills and effort from the Clippers tonight.

Hope for the Best

I didn’t know that had happened to her. I didn’t want to ask about her after not hearing from her for a while just in case it was something bad like this.

I hope things go better for her. I hope she knows how much the Clippers community appreciates her dedication and involvement with the organization. It would be cool if we can generate an aura of support for her during this tough times.

We are really privileged to have many excellent and dedicated writers on the Clippers including many different places to talk about the Clippers.

One day, we need to have a blogger/writer appreciation day.

A Few Updates

I know that there is a listen feature on ESPN.com, but if you can’t use that at the moment:

1) 7 minutes in we are just be out rebounded by 2, only 1 turn over and 1 foul, and shooting 57%.

2) Maybe my Eric Gordon FanPost sent telepathic rays. Eric Gordon has taken the most shots for the team and has 8 points as the Clippers lead 18 to 15. Too bad Eric Gordon’s 2 three pointers didn’t land for him.

3) Baron starts the game 2/3 this time around.

4) Al Jefferson leads the Clippers with 5.

Maybe it's because we're so healthy.

In the past when we could barely field a practice, we’d end up getting a bit more free-throw practice. It used to be something that we were pretty decent at. Last year was terrible, and this year has been meh.

Gordon back with 2 minutes left before half?

The kid scored 14 in the 1st quarter and you leave him out for the entire 2nd quarter? Way to cool off your shooters Mike.

Can't be too mad...

they built the lead with EJ out.

by ghost_ride on Dec 16, 2009 6:07 PM PST up reply actions

You want consistent minutes...

from your starters and bench unless they’re not producing that night. If someone is producing like Eric, you want to feed the hot hand. You ever yanked for an entire quarter then get thrown back in after your muscles cool down? Tough to get it going again after that. I also trust EJ with the ball in his hand in a tight game in the 4th alot more than Rasual taking shots for us down the stretch.

by MichaelCage on Dec 16, 2009 6:16 PM PST up reply actions

If Kobe playes on the Clippers...

he would never break 20…Mike would rest him alot after 10 points in a quarter.

Double Digit Lead Going into Half Time

Clippers up 64-53.

Wolves have been coming back from double digit leads to win their games. That said, it is nice having a lead as opposed to a deficit.

Listening to the radio, it seems Eric Gordon is getting a lot more touches this game.

by ClipperTheorist on Dec 16, 2009 6:14 PM PST reply actions

Good offense in the 2nd half.

Clippers get 37 points in the 2nd quarter! Seems like the bench has been doing well. Also, 17 assists on 25 made field goals. 5 steals and 6 blocks in the first half too. Wolves only have 2 more rebounds than the Clippers.

Hopefully the Clippers can keep up the energy in the 2nd half.

Clippers haven’t been very consistent at times. Hopefully Clippers can use this road trip to get closer to the .500 mark. Clippers are going to have long road trips and harder opponents coming up this season.

I like to be optimistic and say that with Eric Gordon back the Clippers will find their stride and have a chance to even go above that mark.

Ricky is probably yelling at Baron to get his two rebounds for the triple-double!

That win was pretty :-)

I enjoyed every aspect of this game offense and defense. I thought the entire starting five played very well. EJ is doing a great job getting to the line and Camby is so good on defense. Great win tonight for the Clippers!

What category do we put this game in?

I guess this game doesn’t count as an “ugly win”.

What do you think helped the Clippers win today?

Also, it has been nice talking with everyone about the game today.
Thank you everyone.

This is a beautiful win, obviously.

Rasual is out of the slump, Boom is playing well, Kaman shot well. What else can you ask for?
