Eric Gordon needs a nickname...
Hey Clips Nation-ers. With Eric really coming on lately I think he needs a catchy nickname. Kobe is the "Black Mamba", Lebron is "King James", Dwight Howard is "Superman", etc...
For Eric, how about "The Commissioner"? U know like Commissioner Gordon from the Batman comics? That's what I've been calling him since last year and this year it's really caught on in my circle of friends.
I'm sure there are others out there. What other nicknames u guys have for EJ ? (yeah I know EJ's kind of a nickname too, but I digress...)
Chico

I've been pushing Flash Gordon forever. It sounds awesome, and makes the most sense.
having said that, I actually like Commissioner Gordon, as well. Air Gordon isn’t bad, but it’s a ripoff of Air Jordan (and I don’t want EJ routinely compared to MJ, consciously or not, it’s bad joo-joo).

Slash Gordon?
Swift, Sly, Zip, Flip, Fly…
Eric “Hit Man” Gordon.
All right, that’s the last of the dregs
Meh.
That’s only because Wade was Superman, then when the Big Ego came he called Wade Flash. Doesn’t count in my book, AND it seems forced.
Flash Gordon.
Cut it, lock it, print it.

Dead silence; camouflage, Ninja
I think I’m playing wayy too much COD for my own good…
But I usually stick to Air Gordon or Flash Gordon. I know the MJ and Wade comes in mind, but its catchy.
Maybe
Commissioner Gordon
and the Alfred the Butler (as in Rasual). OK, that’s stretching it.
That's great...
Is Blake Batman? Kaman the Joker? Obviously Brian Skinner is King Tut.

Given what we know of them
DJ is the Riddler
Kaman is Two Face (good kaman vs bad kaman)
Craig Smith is Bane
Mike Dunleavy is Mr Freeze (nice substitution there Dunleavy)
BG is the Joker (I guess DJ and BG could be either)
Camby is the Scarecrow
EJ is the Penguin (surprisingly agile and quick despite his deceiving appearance)
Brian Skinner is Killer Croc
Baron is the Mad Hatter (technical genius especially by NBA standards, see his stuff on ibeatyou and twitter)
FA in 2010.

Hobson's Choice!
Can’t wait to hear Milph figure out a way to use that to describe an easy dime by ‘Hobbs’.
The Hobbit!!!
We could always just go with the nickname his teammates call him…or would that be too easy?
Do or do not. There is no try.
"Flash Gordon"
That would be my choice. Although, I do like the “Commissioner”
Either way, he deserves a nickname. EJ is cool, but not long enough and I don’t know if it really should be considered a nickname, haha.
Nicknames are Organic
And no, Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant never caught on. You can’t give yourself one.
Love the kid, would probably take him over the Likes of OJ Mayo at this point, but there’s no need to flog that horse.

Actually...
Kobe does have two nicknames, he is called “The Black Mamba” as well as “The Closer”, by many media outlets, fans, card collectors, etc… In the newest Nike commercial w/ Lebron they call him “The Black Mamba”.
Nike Commercial?
Michael Jordan had an early nickname in Nike commercials with Spike Lee. Lee called him “Money.”
Nope.

Well, I have seen basketball cards that Kobe has signed
I have seen him add both “Black Mamba” and “The Closer”

Oh, totally
Don’t get me wrong. This isn’t a provable thing, I’m not really arguing with you. But it’s a nickname he gave himself, and…. meh.
I’m just saying, nicknames are something you can’t force, and you can’t give yourself one any more than you can give yourself a massage or tickle yourself. “Black Mamba” just feels fake.
Half of the most memorable nicknames don’t make that much sense. “The Answer.” Or the very best ones evoke qualities of the player. “The Iceman, George Gervin.” Kevin Garnett was “Da Kid,” but then when he grew up and got his huge contract he turned into “The Big Ticket.”
Eric Gordon will hopefully have a nice long career in which to have one grow onto him.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
The Closer?
Are you sure it isn’t TNT giving him that nickname to pitch that TV show, the Closer? There’s probably nothing more annoying than watching the playoffs and seeing TNT shamelessly plug their shows on every commercial break.

EGJ Thizzfaze Supreme or Cheeks
EGJ because nobody can agree on EG or EJ, so I just use them both. Thizzface because of Eric’s tendency to not smile, but rather throw a mean thizzface reminiscent of Mac Dre but more gangster, and Supreme because he is Supreme.
A friend of mine came up with Cheeks, because of Eric’s large, kissable, squeezable cheeks. His cheeks are so large and luscious Brian Skinner could not eat them.
Yay yay.

Eric Snow gave him a great nickname “A Jewel”
