way too many 3pt attempts. This game was the Clippers until they thought the Knicks didn’t want it more than them.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 7:45 PM PST up reply actions

What’s the freakin’ deal with the “get it to Kaman” strategy, I saw it rear its head in the 4th… followed by a bunch of misses. It just doesn’t work, why keep doing it?

by LancasterGordon4Eva on Dec 18, 2009 7:34 PM PST reply actions

Two things, no three....

1. The Clippers did not share the basketball in the second half. Instead, they went to iso plays for Kaman, Baron, and Thornton.

2. Why or how does EJ only get 8 shots in a game that he plays 40 minutes?

3. How was AT’s drive with like 15 seconds left a charge? He was tripped and never put his upper body into Gallinari.

This game started out great. The Clippers were sharing the ball. They were playing great defense. They were getting to the foul line.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 7:44 PM PST reply actions

The 3rd was a very bad quarter

The starters were left in all 12 minutes and they did not move the ball. I dont get why there wasnt a TO called or a sub.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 7:53 PM PST up reply actions

It is only one game

It’s not like they played a bad game. There are many positives out of this game. The KNicks just wanted it more and the Clippers thought they had it.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 7:54 PM PST up reply actions

Well the Clippers did.....

Score 58 points in the first half

Clippers shot 20-24 free throws for 83% (Gordon was 9-10)

The Clippers retook the lead after being down by 4 in the 4th quarter.

I understand that it sucks that they lost, but there are positives and they did have a chance to win.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:04 PM PST up reply actions

Too early for that type of talk

The NBA standings this time of year are not that important. I am positive that NBA teams, whether they are in 1st or 11th dont care this time of year. Ask them at the end of Feb or March and then they might be able to tell you. Just like in baseball, teams dont start looking at the scoreboards until after the all-star break.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:08 PM PST up reply actions

- got out scored I believe 55-35/ EG had almost 4 TO’s late in the 4th and played with no effort while guarding Duhon/ Clippers also loss the lead in the 4th. The Negatives outway the positives in this case that what usually happens in a loss.

by KillaClip on Dec 18, 2009 8:07 PM PST reply actions

EJ had almost 4 TO's!?

How do you almost have 4 turnovers? Btw, he only had 3 in the entire game.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:10 PM PST up reply actions

If you want to know what the biggest negative was in this game look at the assists for the Clippers.

The Clippers had 13 assists! That is a season low. I guarantee you that. Infact I would go out on a limb and say they havent had less than 20 all year.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:11 PM PST up reply actions

To another poster this wasn't a wake up call game

We gave up a larger lead in the same fashion to the Raptors if you didn’t learn then you haven’t learned at all. Even Dunleavy was trrying to tell them to stay focused at the half.

by KillaClip on Dec 18, 2009 8:10 PM PST reply actions

Hmmm...well no ball movement, and no defense.

Also, the Clippers only had 13 assists in the game. They average 22 assists per game wich is 13th in the NBA.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:14 PM PST up reply actions

When he lost the ball in the 4th on a fast break with Butler he almost had a TO. When he tried to give a entry pass to Kaman he had a TO. When he tried to attack the basket in the third and lost control he had a TO. there was another I think late in the 4th as well

by KillaClip on Dec 18, 2009 8:12 PM PST reply actions

wasn't a remember he did it late in the 4th lol

Rasual was right next to him and he fumbled the ball he almost lost it out of bound but he retained it and the team had to reset

by KillaClip on Dec 18, 2009 8:17 PM PST reply actions

Hahahaha

So are you telling me they should have a stat for “almost”? So how exactly do we record “almost” plays?

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:19 PM PST up reply actions

Almost has never won or lost a game

I don’t know where you are coming from with this “almost” statistic.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:20 PM PST up reply actions

Almost had the 4th wasn’t the point the point was the play where he almost had the 4th one was a key fast break that would have helped with momentum to get a easy bucket.

by KillaClip on Dec 18, 2009 8:22 PM PST reply actions

There are so many plays in a basketball game

You cant single out one play and say taht was the game.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:23 PM PST up reply actions

How can you single out just that one play?

So what are you saying? Are you saying that if Gordon would have throwed down a one-handed monster jam on that play the Clipper would have won?

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:24 PM PST up reply actions

A play that changes momentum yes!!

If Gordon can flush it or pass it to Butler for a jam both go down the court playing harder on D.

by KillaClip on Dec 18, 2009 8:27 PM PST reply actions

I understand that, but it does not make a difference in a win or lose in this game.

Can you tell me what exactly happened after he fumbled the pass and it went to Butler?

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:29 PM PST up reply actions

happened 55. mark in the 4th

Baron had to take the rushed 3 that he made at the .36 mark. and my mistake is was Thornton with him on the break not Rasual. Now think if Gordon gets the easy bucket we have more time to set in on the other end when they come back with the Harrington shot

by KillaClip on Dec 18, 2009 8:38 PM PST reply actions

Wait! Wait! Wait!

So let me get this straight, Baron made the 3 that put the Clippers up by 1 on the play when EJ fumbled the basketball, right?

So wouldn’t that three be more of a momentum changer than a game tying dunk would have been?

Anyways, the Clipper just didn’t move the ball or get enough posessions to compete with the Knicks in teh second half. 72 shots from teh field wont win any game nor will 13 assists.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:44 PM PST up reply actions

Hey, now that's the spirit!

These are the games that make the Clipeprs who they are. Atleast they didnt end up losing by double figures. This game could have easily went to the Clippers. I thought the charge on AT was very questionable and the tip in by Lee was such luck.

by NBAFAN8 on Dec 18, 2009 8:47 PM PST up reply actions

Time was what we needed

we had to take a rushed lucky shot what is the number one problem with the Clippers Ralph and Mike say it every game that they can’t get easy buckets. Baron giving us a far out 3 didn’t remind the team that they could get easy buckets. Dunleavy mentioned how the team couldn’t get the offense flowing he said we almost fluked a win. Easy buckets>lucky buckets

It is all on Baron and Kaman that we get those type of posessions

Kaman takes forver to get position on the block and Baron takes forever to get teh ball to teh wing or dribble to teh wing to make the entry pass. I have never seen a player dribble the ball as much a BD.

Atleast you are watching the moviw with your wife or girlfriend

You aren’t married and you dont have a girl friend. My bad, lol. Yah, it would have been a better night if the Clippers would have won :-)

That sucks bro

Anyways, have yourself a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years. Don’t forget that family is most important this time of year. I am out……. hopefully saturday vs the Sixers turns out to be a better game for the Clippers.

Baron was running the offense who else could do it Eric? lol

Baron was the one who got the ball out to Eric so he could get the fastbreak bucket when it fell apart. Kaman on the other hand was playing poor he never can fully take advantage of a mis-match I can see when your double teamed passing out but when you have David Lee one on one you do not shoot jumpers you post him and make a move GOING AT THE BASKET!!

I am refering to the entire game

Baron dribbles the he!! out of the ball. He just stands at the top of the key and dribbles and dribbles, and dribbles.

And I would actually like to see EJ play some more point.

He could do it, infact if we get a superstar free agent such as Lebron or Wade, EJ might play the point in the future.

It could have been worse.

This game was supposed to originally air on ESPN. Now, the world didn’t have to see our shame.

The only bright side the game is this:

I dont know how I feel about this...

I love the spirit and high energy, but it was a little too early to celebrate.
