New Trade Idea
After watching the Clippers lay an egg with minimal contribution from the bench vs the Knicks, i've thought up a new trade idea.
First waive R.Davis & K.Rush to clear 2 roster spots
Then the trade:
Camby &Telfair to the Portland Trailblazers
Blake, Outlaw, Fernandez, Howard to the Clippers
I would offer this trade a little bit after Griffin gets back from injury so he can take Camby's starting spot. Conveniently, Fernandez is supposed to return from injury around that time and would add some foreign flavor to the team .Blake isn't playing much better than Telfair, but he has an expiring deal and although Outlaw will probably be out for a few months, he's a young SF nicknamed Mr Fouth quarter.
Portland accepting this trade is predicated on where they think they are this season, they would be giving away some young talented players for a 35 year old. The only realistic way the Blazers accept this trade is that they think that Camby could elevate them into being a contender and that he could teach Oden a thing or two.
What do you think? Is this trade a realistic possibility or am i having too much fun with the trade machine?

add butler
cause he can’t make a game winning 3
This trade is not realistic.
Portland loves Rudy Fernandez and Travis Outlaw has been great for them—and his contract expires at the end of the season. Also, Portland already had Sebastian, and he was not good for them.
Yay yay.
After tonights game I would say let up on Butler
he is starting to play better and is becoming the player we thought we were getting.

how about this
Knicks trade: Mobley and Milicic to Hou, Jeffries and Hill to Clippers $3 mil to both Clippers and Houston. 2010 2nd rounder also heads to Hou
Houston: trades T-Mac and Cook to Knicks, $3 mil to clips
Clippers: trade R. Davis and Collins to Hou, Butler to Knicks.
A few execptions out there too

im a magic fan
i recently read your blogs because a magic fan posted something about a trade of camby and telfair for gortat, bass, and anthony johnson. hope its realistic enough coz a lot of us in the magic fam is looking forward for that to happen
in OTIS we TRUST...
Don't like it and heres why:
To us, we’re getting all role players. They’re adequate role players, but they’re just role players. Who knows how well Camby will be when he’s next to Dwight Howard, but for now, he’s #4 in blocks and rebounds. That’s starting center/pf caliber for many teams.
Now to add onto that, Clippers right now are financially stable with Camby’s salary potentially coming off the books next season. We either have a run at the FA, or we can resign Camby. Either way, I hope Camby asks for less, and I hope we resign him and another. Either way, Camby is a very valuable starting center with HIGH trade value and heres why:
Camby isn’t the best defender in the league, but he’s a very good weakside blocker. The man knows how to block; its not a secret. The man can also rebound. Any team can use one of those off the bench, even if its 35 years old. In Magic’s case, you guys might have a huge dynamic duo with moving Dwight back to PF and Camby to center.
Then there’s Telfair. We don’t want Johnson. The guy is old. Doesn’t seem to fit into our system if we try and run. Bassy’s a perfect fit there since Telfair is typically a pass first point guard – not to mention he’s very good on the transition. He doesn’t get his minutes, but it could change IF Dunleavy gets fired.
Regardless, Gortat just signed a contract that Magics matched (awkwardly) that I would think the Clippers are going to try and stay clear from. We’re talking about a 5 year 34 mil a year contract. Very hefty, and that’s going to keep us out of any potential FA run for next season. And this is just for a backup PF for us.
Then theres 18 Mils for 4 years for Brandon Bass; another role player. Again, keep us out of FA just for another role player, of whom we have one in Craig Smith.
Not to mention, right now if we’re in the hunt for a potential playoff spot, I don’t think we want to ruin anything- let alone get guys who we’re not even sure if Gortat, Bass, and Johnson can make up for the loss of Camby and Telfair. So to sum it up, we’re losing a veteran starting center for role players, we’re losing a youing 24 year old guard with alot of talent, this would probably take us out of the playoff spot, and we’re going lose any hope at 2010 FA. Sorry, not a good trade.
+1
there is nothing good for us at all in that deal

Im surprise though
reading the comments over at Orlandos SB page, they say that giving Gortat AND Bass is TOO much.
Gortat is actually still worth something?
Gortat is decent but
like you said Gortat is way too much like Kaman and he also has a long contract so there is no way that I see us doing this trade.

Are you guys kidding? These trades do not make sense for the Clippers.
Gortat – is a decent big. But his style is too similar to Kaman. Camby is a better fit cause he rebounds and plays defense. Which I consider are Kaman’s weaknesses.
Bass – we dont need him. We have Blake Griffin.
Anthony Johnson – HELL NO.

Pryzbilla is out indefinitely.
If portland doesn’t make a trade they will be without a center for a while.
Camby to Portland
My first reaction when I heard that Pryzbilla was injured is that Portland will go after a veteran big guy like Camby. It won’t happen right away but it will happen within a month. When it comes to matching salaries to make a trade, I’m clueless. I’m guessing it will be very difficult to do. But, Portland won’t want to give up on the season with Oden and Pryzbilla out. And, Camby would be a nice fit with an expiring contract. He’s done a terrific job for the Clippers but he’s not a part of their future. Trading him to Portland would make sense for the Clips if they can get real value back. My guess is that Portland would love to get rid of Andre Miller—signing him was a mistake on their part. It would be a mistake for the Clips to take him on. Steve Blake’s contract is up after this year, I believe. The Clips could use Blake and not be committed long-term. He would be a very good back up point to BD.
