Blake Update - Returning AFTER Jan 1.
From Eric Pincus:
per Dunleavy - Blake Griffin probably back after the first of the year - story to follow
I knew he wasn't coming back this year. Dun claimed it was mid December "at most" at the time the news broke. Not a surprise that it turned out to be false.
That's fine with me in the sense that there's no reason to rush him back. But obviously the longer he sits the more worried I get in general because he's a Clipper and we're Clips fans.

To the quote from Dunleavy:
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=14537
On Wednesday night, Los Angeles Clippers General Manager and Coach Mike Dunleavy said that top draft pick Blake Griffin will likely be out until January.
“Now that I’m learning more about [his injury],” said Dunleavy. “It’s probably looking more like after the first of the year.”
Story to follow . . .
no sense at all!
how are you only learning more about the injury!? did it get worse!?

More Job Security
Now that it’s been established that Sterling wont fire him until he has all his players.
This squashes/dampens reports that his recovery has been going well, or ahead of schedule.
Well, crap
It might be a little harder to be at .500 when he returns, now. The team should keep it as a goal.
Is this another one of those time vacuum things where it keeps getting more and more extended?
How come players on other teams tend to come back SOONER than projected and the Clippers always seem to take double the time?
It sounded fishy when they said he was going to get another MRI on Dec 10….no way he could play on Dec 14.
same thing as with brand and livingston a few years ago
by new year’s…
by february…
by the all-star break…
by march…
by april…
ok nevermind.
BG, EJ, BD LETS GO CLIPPERS!!!
Damn.. Really wanted to see him posterize FElton
'Cause how you play, is how you'll be remembered. PLAY LOUD!
Not surprising...
our trainers are the worst in all professional sports. We lead the league in games missed due to injuries three years running. Whenever our players (like Eric tonight) is marked as game time decision, you can assume he’s not playing. With Jasen Powell in charge, Blake probably won’t be back until after the All Star game.
This Is Exactly Right
There is NO WAY Jasen Powell or any of the Clippers medical staff should have let Blake Griffin even walk around or come to the bench in street clothes or anything. I am certain Griffin is experiencing little pain, but a fracture like that has to SET and KNIT; and putting 250 pounds or however much he weighs on it does not help the healing, no matter how young and physically fit he is.
I had a very similar fracture; after a week, I felt little pain, and wanted to walk around on it. My doctors and physical therapists made me stay on crutches full time. I am very glad they did.
