I wished things would have went differently between he and us,
but I’m still rooting for him. During his injury, I posted on his website and he would reply. I also sent him a letter two when the team was accepting them on his behalf. Occasionally on Prime Ticket, they’ll show Classic games. Mostly it’s the Lakers, but they have shown some Clipper games (primarily from the 2006 playoffs). Livingston looked sharp. We were all eager for him to take it to the next level; but even in his inconsistencies, he was able to show that he was a player in this league. He was the best backup point of ours that I could remember. He was also better than most starters that we had.
I’ll never forget the night the injury happened. We won, but we really lost. I hope that he stays focused and continues to develop his game and his body to the point where he can achieve a level of playing that is satisfying to him. He’s still incredibly young and there is room for improvement. If he’s not able to do some of the physical things that he was, he still has size and the mental aspect. He hasn’t lost his court vision. He just needs to develop the craftiness (and of course a jumper) that those who aren’t athletically inclined must use to be successful.
Keep up the good work Shuan.
+1
I wish him the best, and I certainly wish things would’ve worked out differently. We probably should’ve taken Devin Harris instead of Shaun, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Yea it's a shame
Obviously nobody could have predicted that kind of injury. But I’d venture to say that the Livingston pick looked bad pretty early on with Shaun’s multitude of injuries. It was obvious from the beginning that his body just couldn’t handle the strain of the NBA.
Having said that, I don’t necessarily blame them for that pick. They saw a potential superstar and they went for it. It was a worthwhile gamble. I remember Sonny Vaccaro just raving about Livingston, saying he would be in between Magic and Penny in his prime.
It’s always sad to see that kind of potential go unrealized. It must kill Shaun.
It's alright...he's still made millions...lived the life of a pro athlete
is still young and healthy.
Can’t say I feel too bad for him.
Ouch

Jeez, SP
That’s a pretty bad one. The reverse mojo is scary right now.
The little funk that Gordon went into is nothing compared to the attack on the poor semi-cripple, Liv.
Bummer for him.
Why would the Jazz give up on Maynor so quickly?
I think
they didn’t give up on Maynor but needed to use him to package with Harping to clear cap space. OKC is one of the few teams under the cap so they don’t even really need to send another player back (in this case the rights to a 2nd round pick from 2002!).
