EB demoted to the bench

Elton Brand isn't happy coming off the bench for the 76ers.

Philadelphia coach Eddie Jordan is set on Brand coming off the bench even though the club doesn't know if Allen Iverson, who is set to make his debut on Monday, will start or not.

Brand has come off the bench in the team's last two games after he missed three contests with a hamstring injury.

EB needs to go do about 1,000 hours of volunteer work. He’s got a lot of ground to make up.

He might also throw in an honest account and some contrition

In hindsight, Sterling really is a financial genius!

Think about it, one of the major reasons that FElton threw a hissy-fit and not sign with the clips is because he felt “disrespected” by them by not offering him a max contract. DTS reasoning was he’s coming off an achilles injury and not worthy of a max contract until he shows he’s healthy by signing a one-year contract (that whole “opt-out or not opt-out” misunderstanding). Now with what’s happening with the FElton, DTS is really looking good here…

Other players who demanded max contracts or huge contracts that I can think of: Maurice Taylor, Lorenzen Wright, Lamond Murray (no?), Michael Olowakandi, etc…..

I think its because of these players that gave DTS the reputation of being a cheap owner. But in reality, the guy is just a financial genius! Sure he signed Baron, Kaman, etc to big contracts and they’re not panning out extraordinarily well (they’re doing ok thought), but its not like he’s being shortchanged (i.e. GS with Troy Murphy/Dunleavy Jr., or currently with Detroit and Villanueva)

Anyway, just a thought…

I dont think the idea was to sign Brand to a one year contract

the idea was that Brand wanted to play for a championship caliber team and possibly want more money in the process. Clippers didn’t WANT to give him more money, and I’m also sure that the Clippers were more than happy to let him continue his contract more than a one year contract. Im sure Clipper’s offers were roughyl around 3-4 years.

Btw, are you getting a bit anxious yet about watching Clippers game clipFanInSD? LOL

Hahaha!

Looking forward to it….I have to make one big confession though……and please don’t hold this against me ;)

I happened to watched the Memphis game, and watch I did, and glad I did it! :)

Aside for that little stumble, it looks like I don’t have long to wait to start watching/following it regularly…instead of just catching the highlights :)
