JWill back to the Clippers?
I just read an article from Yahoo! Sports stating that Jason Williams, aka JWill, aka White Chocolate has sent a petition to be reinstated.
It also states that the Clips are not likely to keep and and negotiate a buyout. I actually think they may possibly keep him. Why buy him out and not get anything out of it? Unless the buyout is less than $1mm, I see them keeping him.
Yes, we are stacked with PG's. Baron isn't doing well, perhaps we need some veteran leadership?
I would take JWill over Jason Hart anyday.

Not sure I understand
JWill chose to sign with the Clippers and then quit without playing. And then he waited until just after the trade deadline to ask to be reinstated. Why should a buyout even be necessary? Paying a player who quit and then releasing him to play for another team would set a very bad precedent.
If the Clippers don’t want JWill, I don’t understand why they should owe him anything at all. He’s the one who quit, and that should release the Clippers from having to pay his contract. The Clippers should have the right of first refusal, and if they don’t want him, the league should make him stay retired for at least the rest of this season. Can anyone explain the rules for this situation?
Wish I knew...
I’ll research it some (but not until Saturday at least). A ‘buyout’ seems like the wrong term. They shouldn’t owe any money to a player who retired before training camp. But they won’t put him on the roster.

Sorry, just created a FanShot for exactly the same thing
Will make sure I check next time.
We just can’t get enough disfunctional personalities on this team can we!!!! We should have traded Camby and Kaman for Starbury and then played:
Baron, JWill, Starbuy, Ricky and a.n.other
Bingo! Oh me oh my!
