Fred Jones? His last contract was 3/$11M. He won't get that this time. He's probably in the right price range, and he's unrestricted. So I guess he's an option.

Clippers Roster not Set Yet - Warriors Match Azubuike - Clips Nation

OK, so this is a little weird, I'll admit. A FanShot on Clips Nation by ClipperSteve, quoting a post on Clips Nation by ClipperSteve. Self-referentiality aside, I came across this researching the Hart-Knight trade today. It turns out (and I had completely forgotten this) that I included Fred Jones on a list of potential signings for the Clippers when the Warriors matched on Azubuike. The Clippers actually used the money to sign Ricky Davis, and ended up getting Jones for the minimum. So I guess I would have overpaid for Fred - but I would have gotten the right guy from the beginning.

Well played

Overpaying a bit for Fred and no Davis2 would have been the right move.

We can't regret the past...especially for a relatively minor deal

Had we signed Fred Jones, our record may not have been so bad to start…we’d probably be say…5-8? Who knows if that would have resulted in the ZBo trade? Maybe Cat is still playing…without any notice of his heart condition. Maybe Gordon would have been glued to the bench longer? Our team would have been drastically different. Plus, Davis2 had about 5 good games……

This is going to be my team, and we're going to rise together.

Oh, I'm not suggesting it was an earth-shattering decision...

I just found it interesting that he was on my radar then.
