Sam Cassell
Does anyone else miss how Sam Cassell used to run this team? He was a true leader for the Clippers. Baron Davis doesn't seem to have the same attitude as Cassell did. Not only his attitude, but his production is not even close. The Clippers could have relied on Cassell for a big scoring night if they needed one, but Davis hasn't been able to do that this year.
Either way.. Go clippers

Hmm id rather Baron Davis any day of Sam Cassell, in fact i’d rather have a bad Baron than a good Cassell. Sorry just don’t think he’s any good.
There's a Bill Simmons podcast...
…from a few weeks ago, where Simmons chats with Rick Bucher. Simmons says, “If I was GM of the Clippers, I’d hire Sam Cassell as coach, the fans would love it, whaddya think?”
Bucher says, “Are you kidding? The fans loved Cassell, but his teammates HATED him.”
I paraphrase, but not much. It always seemed to me, when Sam was yammering at Kaman and the other Clippers on the sidelines, they were all looking like they desperately wanted to get away. IMO, if Sam wants to coach he should get some experience in the D-league or as an assistant somewhere. If the Clips are hiring a new coach, hire a new coach, not an ex-player.
Not fair comparing Davis to Sam at this stage in their careers,
but if you could say, Davis at a certain age vs. Sam at a certain age, I’d have to go with Sam. His basketball IQ is definetly better than Davis’s.
plus i think sam believed he could make tough shots....
baron just looks too lazy to attack the basket and therefore settles for tough shots
Baron is having his worst season by far season but it’s not like Cassell was a stand out, for his last 2 seasons for the Clips he averaged nearly 13 points and nearly 5 assists. To me that doesn’t sound very good. I spose when you look back on previous more successful seasons everyones going to look better, especially when we will be lucky to win 20 games this season.
