ClippersNation, i think we might have overlooked someone!
Something I've noticed with Clippers fan is that we are very loyal, exception of Mike Dunleavy. We all seem to hate Mike's gut for putting in Daniel Ewing at a time where we could have made it to the finals. We hate that Mike Dunleavy's slow paced half court offense slows down Baron Davisfast break offence. We also hate the fact that Mike Dunleavy has a problem with any players that want to play "their" game. (Baron, Maggette, you name it!) Hell, remember the time when Dunleavy wanted Kobe? Would Kobe even if in a slow paced Dunleavy offense? But really, we haven't overlooked many of that. But as a fan, I've noticed one thing that we all did overlook; the hardworking, clutch, not as talented-but overachieve, Fred Jones.
Im sure we're all thinking Im crazy. I think i am a bit crazy also, but reality is, I was very intrested watching Fred Jones play. He was unemployed, an ex-former slam dunk champion, and still thought of as an underachiever because of his stats that he compiled. Well, ClipperNation, lets say we all know that stats really dont mean anything.
First off, whats on paper, doesn't nessissary mean it is true. On papr, Kaman gets 10 rebounds( hypothetically speaking,) but watching a game, Kaman let another 5 slip out of his hands. Mike Taylor has horrible stats, but reality, he really didn't play alot of games, and he had an amazing Madison Square Garden Game. The typical "Zach Randolph sucks" chants from ex teams, but really, Zach gets doubled when he gets the ball. Like i said, stats, dont really mean anything.
Lets continue on by saying that Fred Jones really worked hard as a Clipper. Whenever a key steal was needed, Fred Jones took the ball. He made a three even when you didn't expect him to. We'd always look for Novak for the three, Gordon for the steal, and Baron for the assist. But really, did noone at ClipperNation notice that Fred Jones did those in games also?
I really wish Fred Jones will be back. Mardy Collins and Alex Acker can go, but Fred deserves another chance. Alex Acker never did have any chance of playing, but seeing as how this team is completely stacked, how are they even going to fit him in a rotation?
Does anyone else in ClippsNation agree that possibly, Fred should have a chance to be back?
btw sorry for the mistakes, i typed all of this without using Microsoft Word. Thanks for the understanding.

You´re not crazy
I agree, Freddie made a lot of the little things that not many on the team bothered to do. Also provided a spark on some games. He definitely was a positive presence on the court.
So next year, this being the L.A Clippers, guess who will not be back…
Fred was one of the few bright spots this year.
Does that mean he’ll return? Good question.
Are you Fred Jones?
There are proably better ways of securing your job than by hitting the blogs. But you did play well last year. Unfortunatley, it didn’t really translate into wins.
I think the Clippers may be better off keeping some roster spots open in case they are able to pull off a trade for one of their bloated contract players.
F-Elton!
Funny
Good to see you working it, MP.
And yes, Fred, you played very well this year, a bright spot in a dark time. Your contributions weren’t ignored or unappreciated. But MP is right, you’ll probably have to wait to see how the roster shapes up until the Clippers offer you a contract. You might well choose to see this as very good news, because your solid play was presumably noticed by the rest of the league, so you might well get a nice deal elsewhere.
It's Funny
but Fred, you deserve more respect than this. Thanks for playing hard, and hitting some shots for us last year, you made it just a little more bearable and we hope to see you back.
Sorry guys!
I am NOT Fred Jones, and in no way affiliated with him. I’ve never met the guy. ): Always wanted to, but met half the Clippers in the LA vs Oklahoma Thunders finale. Steve Novak and Alex Acker were probably the nicest ones, aside from Al Thornton.
As for the Clippers chances of retaining hard working, always hustling Fred Jones, I see it little to slim, but I really hope he has a chance. ClipperNation really needs a team full of people willing to hustle, even in dark spots.
Fred Jones was everything Ricky Davis was supposed to be
and way more. I was completely shocked that he was not on any NBA roster when we first signed him. How the heck did that happen!?
As I said in another thread...
Freddy Jones is a keeper!!

'Cause how you play, is how you'll be remembered. PLAY LOUD!
I like Fred Jones
only if we don’t over pay him.
"This kid is the best new talent in the league right now, and I don't care who else you mention." -Suns Coach, Alvin Gentry, on Clippers rookie sensation, Eric Gordon.
