How about this trade?
The Spurs just made a huge trade for Richard Jefferson, it got me thinking that they are obviously in a win now mode with Manu and TD in the twilight of their careers.
How about us offering Marcus Camby to them for Roger Mason (potential glue guy), Matt Bonnar (another energy guy off the bench), their two second rounders (can draft some euro prospects or maybe one of the PGs who fell out of the 1st round or a Wayne Ellington/Danny Green type) and a future 1st rounder pick (maybe 2012 or 2013, the Spurs might be rebuilding by then). Both Mason and Bonnar's contracts expire this year so no harm done to our cap space.
Our front office values Kaman over Camby right now, which I think is the right move given their respective ages. I just noticed an opportunity for us to pick up some value future assets and a potential glue guy.

You think
They’d give us Mason, one of the best 3pt shooters in the league, Bonner their starting Center, and 3 draft picks for Marcus Camby? Doubt it

Roger Mason
What do you mean by “glue guy?” Mason wouldn’t provide the depth at small forward that we need and that is typically implied by the label “glue guy.” He’d be a backup SG who would compete for minutes with Mardy Collins. While he’s clearly a better shooter than Collins, I don’t think he is that much of an upgrade or a difference maker.
There’s a good Camby trade out there if the Clips are patient, but this isn’t the right fit at the right time. We just don’t have room on our roster to make a 4 for 1 trade. Somehow this trade is lopsided in the Clippers favor yet still feels like trading for a whole lot of nothing.
Bonner would struggle to find a role on the Clippers. I sure wouldn’t want him stealing minutes from DJ, and I’d rather keep the roster spot open for Novak. The second rounders would struggle to make the team this year. Green and Ellington shouldn’t be available that late. The future 1st rounder is the most useful part of this trade, but I doubt San Antonio would give that up.

Not good enough
I dont think Mason will have a good season like he did this past year he reminds me of the Machine ( VUJACIC ) one good season and done , Matt Boner what can he bring to the table that we dont have already , if we give them Camby that just makes them a lot more stronger Camby and Timmy would make the Spurs very scary team

Agreed
Mason is very debatable, but for two season’s he’s done decent with his shooting touch, so I wouldnt completely rule our Mason. I think we’re finally hearing about Roger Mason because he’s playing for Spurs and not Washington.
Heh, Camby and Timmy would = Timmy inside and Camby shooting perimeter shots. That IS one scary team.

Need to get rid of Kaman. Mason and Bonner don't provide much value.

Some reason your headlines remind me of an airplane company.
Need a Kaman? Ship Kamans anywhere for Tayshaun Prince. Standard Fee’s may apply.

Just listened to the B.S. Report w/ Chad Ford
He made another jab at the clippers, he called blake the most “depressed” No. 1 pick ever.

Blake seems pretty happy to me
I think he’ll like LA, plus he has to realize that we will gut our roster to make him and EJ happy.

i would trade griffing and 3 first round picks for durant.

Nah
I wouldn’t make that trade. You need to surround your star player with some talent after all.

I wouldn't do that trade either
If all this hype with Griffin is true, then Griffin we should be in good shape to improving big time next year. Imagine if griffin does become the next best thing, how would we feel if we feel? (Not to say that Durant isn’t that good, but Durant hasn’t exactly been francise changing yet.)

on 2nd thought, i think 3 picks would be excessive, but 2 probably I"d do it.
I mean assuming the clips were significantly better with a lineup of say kaman, randolph durant, gordon and baron i’d figure those 2 picks would be in the high teens or 20s. I could live with that. 3 maybe is too much.

I would consider
Griffin and Thornton for Durant and the #3.

Heh
I would take that trade in a heartbeat, too bad OKC would never go for that.
Durant > Griffin
- even in a weak draft > Thornton
Presti is a sharp GM, I’m sure he’s as aware of Al’s deficiencies as any GM in the league.

Ok
then Griffin and AT for KD

That would work
We’d even be a playoff team but I can’t see us ever being a contender with Zbo and Kaman as our bigs.

Yep - no brainer
Despite the fact that, as John R points out, he only shoots 45% and has an unacceptably low WIN score.
Wait a minute, he shot 48% last year and WIN is irrelevant. Do that deal. . . .

Well lets do comps
Durant’s upside is…a SF scorer non-playmaker. How about Carmelo? Fair? He isn’t Lebron or even Wade. Or even Kobe.
Griffin’s upside is…Boozer crossed with Amare?
You’d really do that trade? Big/post for small/wing? I wouldn’t. Not at least until I saw Blake play for half a season.
Its a bad trade, no matter the measure.

LOL
if Griffin doesn’t produce for half the season, I doubt OKC would take Blake as a trade bait for Durant.

I make that trade
because KD fills a need, and he is a producer. He had a top 30 WIN score for the year.
I don’t love a front line of Kaman and ZBo deep into the playoffs, but I think KD will continue to mature enough to overcome it. He is dynamic.

Can Durant play D yet?
or can Al Thornton score another 34 on him?

I think KD put in 46 on Al.

Ha! I think
Kevin Durant was more likewise to drop 46 on Al, then Al to drop 34 on Durant.
Or maybe we should have expected it from his D…
??? Confused? LOL
