Blake Griffin is Coming to the Clippers (for a Workout)
Blake Griffin will workout for the Clippers at their training facility this Saturday. With the national basketball media gathered in LA for game 2 of the Finals later that the next day, there will no doubt be a lot of coverage of this workout.

Roger Sterling: I bet there were people in the Bible walking around, complaining about "kids today."
Don Draper: Kids today, they have no one to look up to. Cuz they're looking up to us.
the reporter says that it's odd that this happens...is it?

Nah...
Not sure what that’s about. Pretty standard stuff really.

I mean...
…the reporter knows they’ll have assistants and others for Griffin to workout with… he’s just mocking the way it’s worded, as though he’d be playing with MD and the media… at least I think….
The really annoying thing about the piece and the true indication of the writer’s crappy sense of humor is his need to link to the weak Pearlman piece… that guy makes Simers seem funny.
It's odd...
because it’s Dunleavy..

Steve, you should be there
have you tried asking the Clippers for press credentials. The Dodgers are doing it for us, so you could make a compelling case. Not like the local papers have any Clipper beat writers anymore.

Tide is turning...
I’ll be there Saturday. I was at Olshey’s presser after the lottery. The doors are opening. SBNation is helping, and the Clippers attitude has changed also.

Will you be doing some Q&As? If so what are you planning on asking?
Did the PR staff reach out to you for this and the prior press conference? It’d be interesting to find out who in the mgmt reads this blog.
It is awesome to see how much this blog has blossomed!

I'll be in the gaggle...
I’ll have my little recorder. We’ll see how big the gaggle is.
I don’t have any pre-set questions I want to ask. It kind of depends on the setting. If it’s a big crowd, it’s tough too ask anything too in depth, and I’ll leave it to someone else to ask “how do you feel about being drafted by the Clippers” or other basic stuff.
mmmmm…. awesome blossom….. huhhhhh (Homer Simpson drool-y noises)

But your question at Olsheymania was awesome....
“Do you think Blake Griffin can play the three?”
That was really good. Really.
You should remember to call MDSr. “coach” repeatedly… with absolutely no irony in your voice.
Since you brought it up...
Check out the Notes and Quotes page from the CBS sports site… The quote from Olshey and the quote from Roeser are both in response to questions I asked. I’m strangely proud of that fact.

D'oh...
Those quotes were there for like two weeks, and the day I finally link them they update the page. Trust me… the quotes were there.

Huh?
Still there. I actually didn’t look until you said the quotes weren’t there. But they are, at least in my world they are. Maybe my world is different than yours. But it’s weird because the article is dated June 3. Someone’s messing with the time space continuum… again.
That's weird...
I swear I some different quotes there earlier today. But indeed it’s the same stuff for me as well. Color me confused.

Figured this out, for what it's worth...
The CBSSports site puts a unique identifier on the Notes and Quotes… so the link I copied is still good, but there’s a new version of notes and quotes now with another set of quotes (like Chad Ford, oh goody).

As well you should be...
