How much does the rampant clipper hate irritate you?

SportsNation J.A. Adande: Bill Simmons has Clippers seasons...do you really think he'd be rooting against the Celtics if they played the Clips in the Finals?

SportsNation J.A. Adande: Gotta stay true to your original team.

SportsNation J.A. Adande: BTW, Wilbon and I had this argument last night: he thinks Tiger is crazy to be living in Orlando and not Cali. I told him as much as I love LA, I wouldn't pay the extra millions in state tax it would cost me to live here instead of Florida if I were making Tiger's loot.

Kevin (charlotte: Did you just put "Clippers" and "Finals" in the same sentence? I know it was only hypothetical, but I think that is even taking it too far.

SportsNation J.A. Adande: Okay, give me a hypothetical slap in the head for even conjuring up that thought

So I'm reading a random JA Adande chat, and some random guy in charlotte puts that up.  I mean,  the guy lives where the bobcats play.  Why the diss?   Seriously.

I live real near where the warriors fans, and at least we have for the most part some camraderie as being franchises with a bad history.  But why is it so popular to hate on the clips?  I mean the grizzlies,  or bobcats are just as terrible.

I for one cannot wait until 2012 when kobe is older and worse,  while gasol, bynum and possibly odom are suffocating the laker cap space but they are a mediocre team, and the clippers are riding a core of ej , bg, and dj , and who collectively will still be 23 each , marching the clips into deep playoff runs.

Will it be distrubing to you seeing clipper flags on cars, after the bandwagoners switch wagons?

It's been a bad month for Clipper bashing...

Winning the lottery brought out a lot of the same old stuff. But yeah, I’m used to it.

Incidentally, I was at the ESPN Zone across from Staples yesterday before game 2, wearing my Clippers cap, and no one said a word to me about it. It was actually kind of weird. It was like they didn’t even recognize the logo.

It is funny

if you go up to a person and are wearing a clippers jersey more often then not they won’t say a thing, but once you are just talking about the organization on a show or a website then they bag on them. It is like they don’t want to say it to our faces but once we are gone…

i remember the one time anyone recognized any clipper gear i owned...

and it was when i bough ta sam cassell “ghost face” shirt after the game 3 win against phoenix.

I was walking on 3rd street promenade and some guy got exceited seeming sam’s face on a shirt haha.

I think the clipper bashing has been especially bad since the clips won the lottery , and that “other team” is in the nba finals. I wish denver or houston had knocked them out.

As a blazer fan,

I cannot in good conscience root for the Lakers. However I have a soft spot for the city of Los Angeles, which is why it would be awesome if you guys became really good and destroyed the Lakers night in and night out. I hope you guys find a way to dump salary this offseason, because I really want to see you guys win something in the 2010 free agent auction. You guys already have a precocious wing talent in Gordon and the Baron used to be spectacular, maybe he will be back next year. Hopefully Dunleavy gets his head out of his arse, slaps Sterling silly and engineers some sort of tomfoolery to get Zach Randolph out of LA

Would it be apropos to exclaim “Viva la revolucion”? Oh well, too late. Maybe a front office purge is in order.

Doesn't bother me

Some of it is the lingering stench of the Clippers old ways. It has become cliche’. Some of the criticisim is deserved. Respect has to be earned. One playoff season and a few almosts is not enough.

It’s not the bashing that bothers me, but the unwillingness of reporters to actually do some research. They just post whatever.

Clippers bashing doesn't bother me alot

but like Mikey p said it is when people don’t bother researching that makes me angry. Or when they bash clipper fans. Like last week a clipper fan wrote in asking for some real talk about how the clippers are going to integrate Griffin into the lineups with trades. And the writers response was something like “I think we just heard from the only clipper fan in LA”

did you forget about Dunleavy ?

by andrewexd on Jun 9, 2009 4:46 PM PDT up reply actions

dunleavy is a much better GM than elgin

I wouldn’t say he is sam presti or something, but at least he’s not drafting bo kimble, terry dehere, michael olowokandi and friends etc.

I'd take Olowankandi

over Koralev anyday.

Thabeet and Rick Reilly get in on it.

I asked him what he thought of the lottery.

“Oh, I was SOOOO happy!” he beamed. “I see that the Los Angeles Clippers win the first pick!”

Why did this make you happy, ’Sheem?

“Because I know this means I do not have to play for them!”

Kid’s a quick learner.

I'm happy we won too

so we don’t have to draft him since he has bust written all over him

thabeet

rather have jordan…..not only a bust, a secound round pick is better than him.

Whatever...

Can’t wait to see Thabeet on the Blake Griffin posters.

'Cause how you play, is how you'll be remembered. PLAY LOUD!
