Couple of Questions

Long time lurker, first time poster...albeit I did comment on a post once...anyways on to my question which I think has been overshadowed because of the AI rumors: What is the status of the Zach Randolph to Memphis trade? Is Dunleavy or Memphis having second thoughts? I also read that Miami wanted to use Memphis' cap space to acquire Carlos Boozer. Link Here. Will that impact the potential to unload Randolph? Thanks in advance and I apologize if this has already been answered.

Peace

The deal should be done

by friday. We need Stackhouse to clear waivers before memphis can take on Z-BO’s salary.

i remember HE HATE ME from the XFL!

that league had some good ideas to make the game more interesting…

Roger Sterling: I bet there were people in the Bible walking around, complaining about "kids today."
Don Draper: Kids today, they have no one to look up to. Cuz they're looking up to us.

Friday is the right answer...

Stackhouse went to Memphis in the Shawn Marion 4 team trade. The Grizz waived him last Friday. During the off-season, it takes 7 days for a player to clear waivers. So tomorrow the 7 days are up, and Stack’s salary number goes from $7M to $2M (the only portion of the $7M that was guaranteed).

I have not heard a single word about second thoughts. HOWEVER…. the risk to this delay is that other things could come up. This rumor about Boozer for instance (which I had not heard) – Memphis has already used some cap space to help Dallas get Marion. The Randolph trade will soak up a big chunk of it (though not all). It is possible that they’ll think of other things to do with the space.

Having said all that, I saw Ronald Tillery, Grizzlies beat reporter, in Vegas, and he felt pretty certain the Randolph deal was in no jeopardy. It’s been reported all along that everyone is just waiting for Stack to clear waivers, and I have no real reason to believe otherwise.

In this world, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant. Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. - Elwood P. Dowd
