How about this possibliity for the clippers trade exception

I was reading about how josh childress had to go back to greece because he didn't like how the negotiations were going with the hawks

Seeing as we have a 7.3 million dollar trade exception, couldn't we trade it to the hawks for the rights to josh childress, if its the end of the season and we haven't used it?

I am not sure if that is possible under the nba rules, but I figure if at the end of next season the clippers haven't done anything with their exception why not? We could say take on some unwanted salary the hawks have and childress' rookie deal (say maurice evans or something) or possibly a future draft pick (like say top 20 protected until 2016 or a 2nd rounder or whatever). If by some miracle lebron, etc agrees to sign, we can renounce our rights to childress. If lebron doesn't sign we now own childress's rights and sign him and other players.

Worst case scenario if we lose him we just have to pay some guy that is already on the hawk's roster (I figure we'd have to take on this salary to make it worthwhile for the hawks) or lose a top 20 protected pick (you know since in the not too distant future we'll have all stars bg and eg leading our team to 55 wins... YEAH)
