This is interesting from the Daily News - Sterling wants AI but others within Clipper management do not.

i dont know
the rumor was that sterling was the one telling Dunleavy not to trade Randolph unless it made basketball sense. I doubt he’s trying to push this through if everyone is against it. I think Dunleavy is more on board with this that the article says.

i dont necessarily agree...
dunleavy’s job and reputation(otherwise known as, future jobs) is on the line here. he wants this year to go as smooth as possible and AI does not ease the situation by any means. this seems to be a case of the owner stepping in the way, much like memphis taking thabeet #2 overall because he was heisley’s favorite. in any case, adding AI to this team is not the best idea, sign marcus williams for $4.5 million less and call it a summer from the point guard spot before this thing gets ugly….

gotta disagree with that logic
If its all about now for dunleavy, you gotta think adding Iverson would be what he wants. Yeah, he makes the chemistry questionable, but we didnt have any last year. If he wants to win now, he needs a little more talent. The idea that we dont want to mess up Gordon’s development with Iverson seems to be a long term concern, not short term

i like this
add bowen, williams and josh powell for the price of iverson.
this gives the cips sick depth and some fine role players. if dunleavy cant win with that, he is the moron everyone on this board thinks he is.

no on Powell
he isn’t that good at all his stats were inflated the year he was with us because he was playing way more minutes then usual.

we have a need for a thug-like backup pf
to backup griffen. someone who can go and mangle tim duncan with 6 hard fouls in 15 minutes of action.
camby could certainly play some minutes there, but we will need depth anyways.
powell may drop off the lakers table for cheap, if the lakers can resign lamar odom.
any other suggestions on this type of player? maybe skinner fits the role for veteran’s min?
it wouldnt be too bad to have someone who is familiar with the clippers playbook to start training camp.
my point was that you can get three role players for the same money as iverson (one role as penetrator/scorer).
i through powell in there because i always liked the guy.

You want a thug?
Ask Cleveland for Ben Wallace. (: If you wanted that “Thug Lineup” why did we let go of Zach Randolph? ):
We could have had Ben Wallace, Zach Randolph, and Allen Iverson all together.
Btw, Josh Powells a thug? lmao!

i’m pretty sure he means a dirty work , rebound and defense only type banger. like a charles oakley.

Ahaha
I guess Ben Wallace fits that description? I just think that Ai could possibly be more effective/ make a better fit than Bruce Bowen.

correct
not so much a thug, but a banger.
i wouldnt mind having some potential behind the bang as well, which is why i mentioned powell.

Powell and potential doesn't mix...
I’ve never liked Powells game. Not even when he was playing with the Clippers.

No go.
The Lakers already re-signed Powell this summer. Nice try, though.
