Odom to the Clppers !
The idea of Lamar Odom signing with the Clippers would be a positive move. If he couldn't sign with the Lakers, he could still stay in Southern California by signing with the Clippers. He could move into the small forward spot and would be extremely valuable in an up tempo style of basketball. With Cambry and a talented athletic team, a straight up tempo style might work. It would strengthen the bench, which would be invaluable with a running team. Peter Wilensky, Orange, California, always interesting to watch running teams.

we don't have enough money to offer him
he wants 50 million over 5 years we can’t give him any where close to that much money.
In Gordon we trust
Scared me!
Please be careful when creating a post title! Scared the crap outta me!
'Cause how you play, is how you'll be remembered. PLAY LOUD!
Has anybody else notices that
PeterW always ends his post with " Peter Wilensky, Orange, California"
and usually the post aren’t too insightful. Not to be rude, but I don’t want to see LO to Clippers anymore.
Mike Smith on Eric Gordon: "The Clippers may have found their go to scorer."
On a second note, I want Novak back!
Actually let me take that back a bit
I don’t want LO, but I’d be fine with a player with LO talent. I just hate the guy. I hate the player, not his game. (;

Yeah, it was that scumbag.

I don't know what the punk move by Buss was meant to accomplish. I can't
believe there wasn’t another team (other than Miami) in pursuit of Odom. If I were the Celtics, I’d much rather have Odom than Wallace.
In a way...
Odom’s sacrifice last year when he agreed to come off the bench in the last year of his contract hindered him financially. The salary cap is still being adjusted down due to the recession and teams are worried about committing huge money to players without much upside. I think alot of people who have watched Lamar over the years felt that he should have been a 5-time all star by now. The fact that he isn’t, and will probably never be, is both his blessing and curse. It makes him perfect to play third of fourth fiddle to Kobe on an elite team, but prevents him from being the leading or second gun on a lesser team.
In terms of talent, I agree that the Celtics, Blazers, etc should have made a harder run at Lamar. But they probably looked at his inconsistency, lack of selfishness, assertiveness, and figures that he is no longer worth $10 mil a year.
