Dillman article.. Iverson?
Dillman's article in the LA Times was interesting for a few reason. I posted in another comment that she says the delay in the Randolph trade is just due to Memphis needing the room until they can waive Stackhouse. But the deal will get done.
But maybe the more interesting part of the article is that she names the Clippers as a longshot for the services of Iverson! Not sure if i like the idea of that. Hasn't been a winner anywhere he's been. Obviously we have Baron Davis and Eric Gordon locked in at 1 and 2. And they're all scorers first and passers second. None of them can really play the 3. Anybody think that it might happen or that its a good idea? Even if its a 1 year deal? Here's the link

Iverson could never play the 3 and he is a shoot first shoot second and not pass player.

Funny. Those 6.2 career assists per game were probably achieved through mitosis then. The guy used to be a great passer.

mitosis hey, wow good to see some scientific definitions being added to a basketball blog, good job sport. AI’s also throwin out 3.6 turnovers over his career also, we dont need that. Not a fan of the guy, I would rather give more court time to Gordon and Taylor. Im sure AI will love coming off the bench for the LA Clippers (sarcasm). Please no AI, i would even rather Zac back.

i dont think he’s any less of a poitn guard than most scoring pgs.
i mean do you really consider AI less of a PG than say tony parker, or gilbert arenas. Even jameer nelson is not really a setup pg. The main thing AI has over tony and jameer is that he is MUCH better at scoring than them (well maybe not so much parker, but I bet if AI was younger and had the new handcheck rules when he first entered the league he probably would have averaged 30+ )
He would honestly be a great 6th man if he could embrace that role. That said I don’t think he’d be a good pickup for the clippers . If the clips were one piece away from being a championship contender then maybe. Say we got lebron, …. and AI off the bench with al thornton. now that would be something I think.

I like AI
BUT not for this team. I don’t see him coming of the bench. He’s a ball dominating PG.

A Has Been
Iverson yeah right if thats the case why let go of Randolph they are both very good players but they cannot work in a team oriented system , remember when Iverson was rumor to come to L.A not sure if it was 2-3 years ago I’m glad that never happend but no doubt he is one of the best players to ever play in the NBA

the only time he was rumored was a magette and livingston trade for him.
i think it still would ahve been worth giving a shot to (since he’d have expired this year).

He would have been worth the risk
for a trade w/ Livy. But he’s no longer needed
